MathWorks MatLab Installation Guide

MathWorks® MatLab download & installation

instructions 1. A MathWorks® account needs to be created prior to the installation.

From any browser, visit http://www.mathworks.com and click on the Create Account link.

2. Associate your account with the Cal State Fullerton license. Click on My Account under My Licenses click on Associate Licenses click on Add License. Use the activation key 18246-21785-93053-38761-08561

3. Download the software by clicking on the Download Products link after you associated your account with the Cal State Fullerton license. You will need to select your operating system.

4. Install the software. Follow the installation steps. Check Activate MatLab to complete the installation steps.

1 Create a MathWorks® Account

Step One Go to http://www.mathworks.com and click on the Create Account link in the top right corner of the page.

Step Two Enter your campus email address. Select Academic use (including…) in response to How will you use MathWorks® software? Click Create. Note: Accounts created using a non-campus email address will not be eligible for the free license.

Step Three Verify your email address. Login to your campus email and look for the email sent from MathWorks®. Open the email and click on the Verify your email button




Step Four Continue with the account creation process. Enter your name and create a password. Type CSUF for Department. Click on Create.



2 Associate with Cal State Fullerton License

Step One Once you have created your MathWorks® account, login with your credentials on the MathWorks® website. http://www.mathworks.com

Step Two Click on My Account

Step Three Once in your account profile, under My Licenses click on Associate License.

Step Four You will be directed to the License Center. Click on Add License




Step Four On the Add License window, select Activation Key under the Associate Me with a License section. Click Continue.

Step Five Enter the following for the Activation Key 18246-21785-93053-38761-08561 Click Continue.

Step Six Click Done.



3 Downloading the software

Step One You will be re-directed to License Center page. Click on Download Products.

Step Two You will be re-directed Downloads page. Click on R2014b.

Step Three Select your operating system. This guides shows the installation steps on Windows 64bit Operating System, but the remaining installation steps will be similar for other operating systems.

Step Four The software will start downloading.



Step Five Run the installer files. Select Log in with MathWorks Account and click Next.

Step Six Click Next.

Step Seven Click Yes.



Step Eight Click Download.

Step Four Matlab will start downloading to your computer. The duration of this process depends on the speed of your internet connection and the quality of your personal computer.



4 Installing your software

The instructions for this guide were done on a PC; however the installation screens will be the same for a Mac.

Step One The installation will start once the software has been downloaded. On the MathWorks® Installer window, select the Install using the Internet option and click Next.

Step Two Accept the licensing agreement and click Next.



Step Three Click on Select a license and then click on Next.

Step Four The installation can take up to 45 minutes depending on your computer.

Step Five Click Next.



Step Six Select Activate MATLAB and click on Next.

Step Seven Click Next.

Step Eight Enter your name. Click Next.



Step Nine Click Confirm.

Step Ten Click Confirm.
