Throughout the week we are going to practise these facts and then do the same test on Friday.

Hopefully, you will have a quicker time and more answers correct.

(If you want to do some extra practise, it will help to improve your score even more.)

Monday - Activity 1 - Main TaskLO: I can use short and long multiplication

Today we are going to continue with the learning you did on short and long multiplication a few weeks ago.

1 chilli - continue to practise your

short multiplication. If you are

confident with multiplying 3 and 4

digit numbers by 1 digit, then try

the 2 chilli work for this week.

2 and 3 chilli - continue to practise

your long multiplying of 2 and 3

digit numbers by 2 digits!

Tuesday - Activity 2 - StarterLO: I know my times table facts

Spend 15 minutes practising and learning the times table facts from the Mighty Maths table on Monday.

You can practise how every you want but you could try:

Top fiveChoose 5 of the hardest multiplication facts or any you got incorrect, write them on pieces of paper and place or stick them up around the house where you will see them every day this week. Try to choose locations where you will see the facts regularly such as on a door way you walk through, a mirror you use, on a TV or device screen. Every time you see it, say it outloud. To make it harder you can write it up without the answer (but maybe write it on the back so you can make sure you check you are getting them correct).

Tuesday - Activity 2 - Main TaskLO: I can solve word problems using multiplication

Here are 6 word problems for you to practise your multiplication ...But you do not need to use your written short multiplication or long multiplication method to solve all of them.

One word problem does not involve any multiplication and you do not need to answer it.

Two of the word problems you should be able to solve using your mental multiplication strategies (they will involve multiplying by 10 or 100)

For three of the word problems it would be a good idea for you to use your written short multiplication or long multiplication methods to find the answer.

Show which questions you did mentally with an ‘M’ and your workings out and method for the others.

Good luck! Choose carefully!

Tuesday - Activity 2 - Main Task (1 chilli)LO: I can solve word problems using multiplication

A) Mr Kirby is famous for telling hilarious jokes. If he tells 5 jokes a day every day, then how many jokes will he tell in a year?

(remember there are 365 days in a year)

B) Miss Ross visits the art shop for some supplies. She buys 6 boxes of coloured card. There are 235 sheets of card in each box. How pieces of card has she brought altogether?

C) When Mrs Fletcher goes out running, she completes 3 laps of her local park everyday for 1 week. If she continues this for 10 weeks, then how many laps does she complete in total?

D) Miss Naylor has swapped going to the gym for gardening. She has planted 45 Sunflower seeds in a row. She planted 100 rows. How many sunflowers will she grow?

E) Mr Spencer loves to collect football cards (especially liverpool players). He keeps his cards in albums. Each album can contain 674 cards and he has 4 completed albums. How many cards has he collected?

F) Mrs Webb loves her coffee. She fills her favourite penguin mug with 637 ml of fresh hot coffee and then drinks 254 ml. How much coffee does she have left?

Wednesday - Activity 3 - StarterLO: I can use the multiplication facts I know to answer division number sentences

3 x 6 = 18

7 x 5 = 35

11 x 6 = 66

6 x 8 = 48

11 x 2 = 22

9 x 9 = 81

5 x 8 = 40

12 x 2 = 24

3 x 4 = 12

These are the multiplication facts from the first column of yesterday's Mighty Maths, can you use them to solve any of these related division questions.

I know 3 x 6 = 18 so I know 18 ÷ 6 = 3

Then you also know all these other related division facts...(Can you spot the pattern?) 18 ÷ 6 = 3

180 ÷ 6 = 30 1800 ÷ 6 = 300

2400 ÷ 2 = 180 ÷ 6 =

Thursday - Activity 4 - StarterLO: I know my times table facts

Spend 15 minutes practising and learning the times table facts from the mighty Maths table on Monday.

You can practise how every you want but you could try:

Finding related factsStudy the Mighty Maths answer slide sheet and find times table facts that are similar. Put them into related groups.

● How many square number facts are there ? (e.g. 9 x 9 = 81)● Does the same fact appear more than once? How many times? (e.g. 6 x 8 = 48 is there several times)● How many 11 x table facts are there? (e.g. 11 x 8 = 88)● Are there different times table facts that have the same answer? (e.g. 8 x 6 = 48 and 4 x 12 = 48)

Can you remember and say all the related facts from one group without looking?
