D.I.Y. EX LIBRIS BOOKPLATE MATERIALS INSTRUCTIONS STEP 1: If you are using the pre-cut adhesive foam stickers, simply peel and stick to your wood block (or anything you may be using for your stamp base). If you are not using adhesive foam stickers, skip to step 2. STEP 2: If you are using foam sheets, start by cutting your foam into the approximate size of your block (stamp-base surface). STEP 3: Draw any shape or letter you’d like onto the foam, and cut out. Young children will need help with this part. STEP 4: Glue your foam shape to your stamp base, making sure letters are glued on the mirrored-side (so that letters stamp in the correct direction). STEP 5: Let the glue dry fully. Meanwhile, print out your ex libris stickers, and fill out your info and name. STEP 6: Press your new stamp into your ink pad or paint. STEP 7: Stamp your ex libris stamp onto each sticker in the designated spot and allow to dry. STEP 8: Unpeel and stick your ex libris to the inside front cover of your books. If you did not use name tag stickers, simply cut out your printer paper and use double-sided tape to adhere to your book. 1 1/4” block or bottle cap (or anything to be your stamp base) Craft Foam Sheets, or pre-cut adhesive foam stickers Scissors or Exacto knife Cutting surface White Glue and/or double-sided tape Ink Pad or Tempera paint White blank name tag stickers (or plain white paper you can cut out) and the downloaded ex libris template of your choice designed by
