Skin Contact - Irritation could occur with prolonged exposure to dry fertilizer or fertilizer solution. Contact with heated solution may cause thermal burns. Skin Absorption - Risk of skin absorption is slight Eye Contact - Irritation could occur if fertilizer solution is splashed in eyes or dry product contacts eyes. Heated material may cause thermal burns. Inhalation - Very low vapour activity. If heated could release ammonia gas. Can cause respiratory tract irritation, coughing or choking. Ingestion - Ingestion of large amounts may cause nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort (cramps), diaharrea. Also, symptoms of potassium poisoning may occur, which may include slow heartbeat, peripheal vascular collapse with fall in blood pressure, cardiac arythmias, heart block, accelerated breathing, muscle weakness, heaviness of legs, flaccid paralysis, cold skin, gray pallor. Chronic Potential Health Effects: Dermatitis may develop from repeated or prolonged skin contact.

Decomposes above 100°C . Decomposes on contact with strong bases. This produces toxic and corrosive fumes including ammonia, and phosphorus oxides. The solution in water is a weak base. Reacts vigorously with strong acids and strong oxidants. Gradually gives off ammonia on exposure to air.
