Drama; Dip School Leadership
I am very proud to be principal of Matamata College- a school that has 80 years of tradi-tion, experienced excellent teachers, a good academic record, well resourced classrooms and a beautiful environment in which we learn.
We are a school which provides a wide range of opportunities for academic, sporting, cul-tural and social growth and learning.
We have a long tradition of welcoming interna-tional students to our school and we are seek-ing to develop this further. I believe interna-tional students who come to us with some of their countries’ traditions help our students learn more about the world in which we live while gaining an invaluable personal experi-ence for themselves.
I look forward to welcoming you to Matamata College.

Deans
Deans are responsible for a horizontal level of students ( e.g. year 9 or year 13) They help students with option choices, class placement and also work with students on performance, discipline and career options. Deans liaise closely with teachers and also with parents when they are working with a student. They will often place a student on daily report to monitor his/her attendance, behavior and work effort. Deans are a good first point of contact for parents because they have the “big picture” view of a stu-dent’s performance and behavior.

Achievement Voucher Scheme
Academic Achievement
Quality education for all
We believe in encouraging and rewarding students for good work and positive attitude in and out of the classroom. Teachers will award achievement vouchers to students for variety of reasons. When a student has 10 of these they receive a canteen voucher of $5. At the end of each term, every student who has gained an achievement voucher goes in the draw for prizes that are announced at the final assembly for the term.
ACE club
ACE stands for Achieving and Celebrating Ex-cellence and students who receive 3 excellences in assessments at any level go into the ACE club draw in terms 1-3 for a laptop.
