Glossary of Terms Die Cast: A melted zinc alloy is injected into a steel die which has the product image cut into it. This process uses a much harder metal than what is used in the Rubber Mold process. This is a price-conscious alternative to brass. Die Struck: Brass metal is pressed into a hardened steel die which has the product image cut into it. This process should be used when the rich finish of Natural Brass is desired. Rubber Mold Casting: A metal alloy is melted and poured into a rubber mold which has multiple images of an item cut into it. The mold is made of vulcanized rubber and is inserted into a casting machine. The machine spins the mold while melted metal is poured into the center of the mold. The centrifugal force created by the spinning injects the metal into all of the cavities in the mold. This metal is much softer and will achieve good dimension and detail. Photo/Digital process: This process is a photo/digital reproduction of full color artwork. This process is best for layouts with numerous color and/or halftones & gradients. Silk Screened: Ink is pressed though a mesh screen with a squeegee. The mesh has the image burned into it so that the ink is applied directly to the area to be colored. Each color is applied separately. Cloisonne: Powdered colored glass is placed in cavities and fired at high temperature to solidify the glass. The item is lightly ground and polished to ensure a quality finish. Thin metal lines are required in the design to separate one color from another. CloisEpoxy: Colored epoxy is placed into cavities, cured & then lightly ground and polished to ensure a quality finish. Thin metal lines are required in the design to hold the epoxy and separate one color from another. Soft Enamel Colorfill: Colored enamel paint is placed in cavities and baked at high temperature to solidify the paint. Thin metal lines are required in the design to hold the paint and separate one color from another.

Pre-production samples are minimum $75.00(V). All tooling, set-up and art charges may be billed upon shipping of the samples or as otherwise established by factory. Please allow 3 weeks in addition to normal production time. Returns will not be accepted, nor credit issued for any order that the customer has not approved a pre-production sample. Shipping: F.O.B. Rhode Island. A 25% surcharge will be added to all prepaid freight. Minimum freight charge $10.00(Z). Split Shipments: Add $10.00(Z) per USA destination plus freight. International Shipments: Add $15.00(Z) per location plus freight. FedEx Ground Shipments: Must be on Receiver or 3rd Party Account Number and will incur a $15.00(Z) Service Pick-up Charge. There is no same day pick-up. California & Illinois Shipments: We must be notified in advance of any shipment going to California or Illinois and/or any product shipped elsewhere that may be distributed in California or Illinois in order to ensure compliance with California Proposition 65 and Illinois state laws. Lucite® and Acrylic General Information Pricing: Prices include the cost of embedding one or two items on the same level. Prices for additional items and/or levels will be quoted upon request (QUR). Items over 1000 pieces will be QUR. Sizes and shapes other than those listed will be QUR. Less than catalog minimum will be QUR. Embedments: Customer supplied items will be embedded at customer’s sole risk and expense. Please supply minimum 10% more item than quantity ordered. Pre-production Samples: Factory suggests customer’s approval of a pre-production sample. The sample will normally be sent within 1-1/2 to 2 weeks from receipt of order, artwork & final layout approval. All artwork, typesetting and screen charges to prepare the sample are billed and are not rebateable. Returns will not be accepted, nor credit issued for any order that a pre-production sample has not been approved. Screens: Screens will be held for a maximum of 6 months. Printing: Customer supplied paper inserts must be printed on 10 pt coated stock with wax free, alcohol proof, heat resistant permanent pigment inks. Lucite® Dimensions: Finished sizes may vary slightly due to the shrinkage & finishing of the Lucite® and the fact that all items are handmade. Most dimensions are +/- 1/8”. PMS Color Matches: Factory will match colors as close as possible. Exact PMS matches are not available in the Lucite® process. Packaging: Standard items are individually polybagged & most are gift boxed. Keytags, coasters & letter openers are polybagged & bulk packed. 2 Piece gift boxes QUR.
