Canadas newest phantasm of fresh, unique sketch comedy has

hit Toronto; outrageous, contagious and uncontrollably funny!

DAMEN & HERREN , drawing on the combined wealth of training

and professional experience of its troupe members, Ryan Haneman,

Tara Browne, JP McGlynn, has burst onto the comedy scene and

swept Canadian audiences right off their feet.

Catering to a new, fresh movement in Canadian sketch comedy,suspended between the structured and the bizarre, Das Comedy

is hysterically funny, classically witty and unpredictably twisted.

Following in the tradition of Canadas proverbial comedic acts

such as SCTV and Kids in the Hall Damen & Herren puts

a bright, fresh spin on the tried and true formulaic and gives

new meaning to the ridiculous.

Das Comedy s kitchy sketches and film clips have carved

out a new genre in Canadian comedy, which thrives in the

space between the traditional and the subversive;

the mannerly and rude.

Whether toying with conventional comedic devices, characteristic

eccentricities, double-entendres or spinning a new aspect on

a classic archetype, what makes Damen & Herren s craft unique

is their particular method of juxtaposing crisp, contemporary and

eccentric new characters - for example Le Bouffant, Sheila and

Sean Sean the Leprecon in uncanny, embarrassing situations,

against a back drop of classical, traditionally structured,

unconsciously familiar scenarios.

Targeting the awkward and reveling in the dysfunctional, the

show is boundless in scope and replete with irony as it builds

upon an imminently explosive atmospheric tension, treading

upon a stretched, fine-line.

Das Comedys troupe presents original and hilariously funny material everyone in the house laughed from front to back,from beginning to end series of short skits, Air Farce-style,

but these guys are way funnier than ye olde Air Farce likely to attract a hipper crowd even the intermissions were

just pure silly scenes from the Castle Gay skits were pro- jected onto a screen, as were several creative commercial- spoofs, such as Validation Spray pure silly!

Ryan has worked steadily at perfecting the craft of acting,

since his first performance in Snow White and the 23 Dwarfs .

Ryans full-time commitment to acting has stationed him all

over North America, under the tutelage of several masters. He

has also coached more than 200 students.

Comedy, in particular, has proven a natural

outlet for Ryans energy and performance

abilities. A quick study, Ryans wit, appre-

ciation for irony, and his natural aptitude for

the art of imitation have combined to foster

his keen interest in comedy. In honing his

craft, Ryan has performed Clown, Sketch

Comedy, Stand-up Comedy, Magic, andPuppetry, all across Canada.

He has also written and performed in several sketch comedy

troupes, among them, Wheres the soup?, Comedy Club, Film TV,

Pyro Penguins, The Dumb Guys, and Just Four Guys. Most

recently, Ryan has been engaged with a new, fresh, traditional-

with-a-twist comedic troupe, Damen & Herren, who have just

wrapped their latest project, the highly successful Das Comedy ,

after a weeks run of sold-out shows in December, 2009, at

Vancouvers Little Mountain Studios.

J.P. was born in Limerick, Ireland, and grew up outside of

Toronto. At age 15, after returning to the Emerald Isle,

JPs growing interest in acting was demonstrated first

within local theatre; he performed in church shows and

parades. As his desire to master the craft of acting grew, J.P.s

pursuit of film and television auditions led him to Dublin, where

he was seen by Alan Parker, and considered for the lead role in

Frank Mc Courts Angelas Ashes . J.P. then joined creative forces

with his brothers, Sam and

Mark, and formed a small

Independent Production Co-

mpany, SkidMullet, which

produced several document-

aries, a comedy pilot for MTV

Europe, as well as pop punk and extreme sports content, whichfilmed on location in London, Madrid and Tarifa, Spain. In 2002,

J.P. returned to Toronto to study comedy, writing and performance

at The Humber School of Comedy, which, in turn, spawned a

number of showcases, Yuk Yuk s performances, and live sketch

comedy, which was performed across the city. Moving to

Vancouver in 2005, the past two years have been fortuitous

for J.P., as he has landed several principal and lead roles on

Sanctuary , Supernatural , The Gray Matter (Whistler Film Festival),

When Life Was Good (VIFF, TIFF, MFL, Leo Nominated).

Most recently, J.P. has been writing and performing fresh,

unique comedicmaterial with the Vancouver-based sketch comedy

troupe Damen & Herren .

Tara , born and raised in Vancouver, B.C., first demonstrated

her passion for performance on the high-school stage.

Involved with numerous plays, piano recitals, tap dance

shows, horse-riding shows and even kickboxing, Tara has

won audiences with her infectious energy, love of performing, and

dedication to the craft. After completing a BA in Criminology, Tara

decided to pursue method-acting fulltime. She enrolled at Methodica

Acting Studio and completed a two-year

diploma in 2007. After completing some

thirteen theatre shows at the Pocket Stage ,

Tara debuted the one-woman show, A

Woman Alone, by Dario Fo and Franca

Rame. Landing a part in movie trailer,

The Ovum Factor , directed by Douglas

Thomson, Tara moved to Hamburg,Germany, and appeared in a Nivea beauty

commercial, which aired across Europe.

Moving back to Vancouver, Tara has been working consistently

within the independent film scene, earning lead roles in various

short films, commercials and music videos. For the past year,

eager to refine and perfect her character acting, Tara has been

training with well-known actor and coach, Ben Ratner. Tara

appeared recently as a lead in the L.A.-based ReignCity Enter-

tainment Webseries, playing famed gangster, Lisa Ly . At

present, Tara is living in Toronto, writing and performing

original sketch comedy as part of the new, fresh comedy troupe,

Damen & Herren.
