The Master of Education degree in Administration and Supervision

prepares individuals as elementary or secondary school administrators or supervisors. The program provides both

a theoretical and field-based foundation in educational leadership

with a focus on leading instructional improvement for the benefit of all P-12 students.

This program builds on the rich experiences and expertise of faculty and students to provide an educational environment in which both groups share in research, exploration and inquiry. The result of this synergy is impact — on our community and beyond.

Program Requirements:

The program of study includes 36 credit hours. A typical program of study includes the following 12 classes:

The first five classes — EDL 700, EDL 705, EDL 715, EDL 720 and EDL 730 — are core classes in the program. Students must complete these five classes prior to taking any other classes in the program. These five classes provide the foundation for understanding the practice of building level educational leadership and are course prerequisites for the remainder of the program.

Candidates must sit for the Praxis II test 0411 in Administration and Supervision. This is a South Carolina licensure requirement. Candidates are counseled to take this examination during the last two semesters in the educational leadership program.

• Three letters of recommendation.

• Competitive GRE score (within five years of application date).

• Official TOEFL/IELTS scores for international students.
