the Mountain greens golF course is known for its steeply terraced tees and fairways. The course’s tumbling topography provides a true test for those who want to master fairway speed and tight angles.

the woodstone Meadows golF course is situated at the base of the mountain. Its open and pictur-esque fairways are good for novice golfers, yet offer skill challenges for experts.

For those who want to work on their game, the Driving Range is open daily and features 25 practice stalls and a grass hitting area. A short game practice area is also available, featuring a prac-tice green, chipping area, and a sand bunker.

Be sure to swing By. Private and group lessons are available. All clinics and lessons are scheduled with PGA-trained golf professionals.

Work on your strokes with fast-paced drill and strategy sessions in a clinic, where players are grouped according to ability level. Clinic sizes are limited; please sign up a few days in advance. the western slope We’re making tracks on the national mountain bike scene.Massanutten has been steadily build-ing a reputation for national caliber bike riding and racing. We’ve got a total of 30 miles of mountain bike trails on our Western Slope.Our blazed trails plunge down wooded terrain, and are suitable for intermediate to advanced riders. Not sure if you’re ready for an off-road descent? Contact our mountain bike staff Sunday through Friday.The Mountain Bike Center, in addition to renting bikes, is also a full service bike shop and carries cycling accessories. Our shop can perform most repairs on site.

Crabtree Falls features a series of five major cascades and a number of smaller ones that fall a total distance of 1,200 feet. __ miles from Massanutten.

WhIteoAK cAnyon fAlls in Shenandoah National Park* is located along Skyline Drive at milepost 42.6. It consists of six major drops of varying heights over a mile stretch. The first big drop is the most impressive, at nearly 90 feet. __ miles from Massanutten.

south RIveR fAlls, also in Shenandoah National Park,* offers a waterfall of 83 feet, the third tallest in the park. outdoor enthusiasts of all ages will find opportunities to explore, discover, and delight in the wonders of nature.

GeoloGy 101 Massanutten Mountain is a ridge some fifty miles in length that lies entirely in the Shenandoah Valley. The rocks under our feet represent some of the oldest mountain formations in the country. If you look down into the valley below, you’ll notice that very few surface streams exist. That’s because so much water flows underground through limestone caves. Dry caves, like nearby Luray Caverns, are among our area’s most unusual geological treasures.

top thInGs to do on sKylIne dRIvefamily tRAct trails TRACT Trails are part of a national network of trails designed to get kids outside and off their technology items. Kids hike a trail, then they hop online to www.kidinparks.com, and log their miles to earn prizes. One TRACT Trail is located along the Limberlost Trail (mile 43) and engages four of the five senses as children learn about animals and nature. The Park's second TRACT Trail, located along the Blackrock Trail (mile 87.4), focuses on exploring the Appalachian Trail.

south River falls This is a strenuous out-and-back hike of 2.6 miles and leads to the Park's third tallest waterfall. Begin the hike at the back of the South River Picnic Grounds (mile 62.8) and continue down the hill to a rock ledge with a stone guard rail. The waterfall measures 83 feet. Return the way you came.

hawksbill mountain It is the highest peak in the park at 4050'. Hawksbill offers three hikes to capture these marvelous views. There is a 1.7 mile round trip hike (mile 45.6), which is fairly steep with a beautiful view. Also, there is a 2.9 mile circuit (mile 45.6), which is a moderate hike with great views much of the way and a spectacular finish at the top. Finally, there is a 2.1 mile round trip (mile 46.7), which is easy to moderate hike leading to a gorgeous view.
