Well, I’m back from my post-Christmas break, my batteries are recharged and I’m ready for whatever challenges lie ahead Foreseen challenges give all of us the time to prepare and to reflect; this aids us in the process of dealing with the situation in which we find ourselves. The unknown challenge by its very nature does not afford us the luxury of the time to prepare and discuss what ought or can be done and we therefore, have a knee-jerk response. Many unknown challenges in life are connected to family and friends. Something suddenly alters theirs, or our, existence and it has an impact on all of our lives. So how do we deal with what life can and does throw at us? For me, the answer is to realise that no matter what the challenge maybe, it is seldom just solely myself who should have to deal with it. I realise that there is a part of my life directing me and hopefully enabling me to find the solution to the challenge. Sometimes the challenge allows me to find the solution but sometimes I have to accept that the solution is God’s way, and not my way, which is the only way to go. So, this year I hope all of us can find a way to accept God’s will and follow the path he has laid out for us, no matter what the challenge may be - he would always be with us, to the very end.

Message from the Chaplaincy at Musgrove Park Hospital: If you are admitted to MPH the Chaplaincy team like to know that you are here so that ward volunteers know to look for you on their weekday visits & also so that Fr Ikeokwu can offer you the Sacrament of
the Sick & he or a Eucharistic Minister can bring you Holy Communion. When you are admitted to hospital, a member of staff should ask & record your religion, as this is not an
essential medical question, busy staff tend to overlook it. If you aren’t asked on admis-sion, ask a member of staff later to check it is recorded correctly; don’t assume because you’ve been in hospital before it will automatically be inserted. You, or your family, can
also contact us on 01823 342515 or at [email protected] to ask for a visit
