We are very thankful that we are able to resume Masses again! However here are some guidelines that MUST be STRICTLY followed, Thank You! 1- Everyone must wear a mask.
2- Families can sit together in the pews. 3- Must Keep 6 feet apart from other parishioners (during communion as well) 4- During Communion: Please follow clockwise arrows, keep your mask on un l receiving host in your hand, consume the host and put the mask back on. 5- Ushers will not pass by the pews to collect

SAINT MARIA GORETTI (1890-1902) July 6 Does anything match a mother’s pride in her children? First Communions, confirmations, graduations, weddings: how these delight a mother’s heart! Imagine, then, Assunta Goretti, the only mother ever to attend her child’s canonization! In poverty-stricken rural Italy, widowed Assunta tended fields for the Serenelli family, whose eighteen-year-old son, Alessandro, propositioned her barely twelve-year-old Maria; then, when she resisted, crying, “It is a sin! God forbids it!” he stabbed her fourteen times. As she lay dying, Maria assured the attending priest, “Yes, I forgive Alessandro! I want him to be in Paradise with me someday.” Imprisoned, unrepentant, Alessandro changed after dreaming that a radiant Maria had offered him fourteen lilies. “I’ve kept my promise,” she smiled. “You’ll be here with me someday.” Upon release, he rushed to beg Assunta’s forgiveness. “Jesus has forgiven you,” she replied, “my Maria, too. How can I refuse?” Next morning, mother and murderer walked arm in arm to church and knelt side by side for Communion.

SHARE THE BURDEN “Cometome,allyouwholaborandareburdened,andIwillgiveyourest”(Matthew11:28).ThesewordsofourSaviorseemtobeinstarkcontrasttothepreviouschapterfromthesameGospel,whenweweretoldthatifwedonottakeupourcrosses,wearenotworthyofChrist.Connectingthesetwomessagesmighthelpusonourfaithjourneys.BeingafollowerofChristsurelymeansthatwemustembracethecross,initsmysteryofbothsufferingandtriumph.Thisissomethingthatweneednotdoalone,fortheburdenisoftentooheavyforustocarrybyourselves.Who,then,doweturnto?WecanturntotheBodyofChrist—thecommunityofdisciplesgatheredforworship.Whenwe indtheburdentooheavy,letusrememberthatwecansharethatburdenwithourChristiansistersandbrothers,whocanhelpbringusrest.

The United Way of the Florida Keys is keeping an updated list of resources available for people who live in Monroe County and are in need of assistance related to COVID-19.

Catholic Charities continues to have rental and mortgage assistance available . Funding is related to Hurricane Irma. Residents who lived in Monroe County during the time of Hurricane Irma are eligible to apply.
The number to call is 305.292.9790. It is not known if they will receive any funding specifically related to COVID-19.
For people who are experiencing increased emotional stress during this time, the Guidance Care Center is making every opportunity available for people to receive support. The crisis number is 305.434.7660
