Dear Parishioners, I was appointed to serve at St. Mary’s and St. Ann’s parish community on November 8 th , 2014. I had no idea about this country, culture and the community that I would be serving as the pastor. More over what was very exciting for me was to finally see what the snow looks like and to ex- perience it for myself. I am now glad that I’ve had a safe driving experience even though it wasn’t very pleasant driving during winters. Now when I look back I still wonder how quickly time went by and again I'm in the same situation at wondering about the new place and job that I will be taking charge of from June onwards. I guess this is what our reli- gious and priestly life is all about there is always a calling for us to be ready to go where ever we are sent by our superiors. I humbly accept the decision of the Provincial superior Fr Charles and I look forward to carry on my service at the Hospital as a chaplain. This will be a different journey for me along with the faithful who will be in their suffering, pain, agony and dying. At the same time there will be lots of beautiful places to enjoy and have fun. I think life is not only challenging but also rewarding and beautiful. I thank God for all his blessings and strength that I received from Him to discharge all my du- ties and responsibility for this community. As I will be moving away from this community and the province, I have to say that it was a very humbling experience to serve you the faithful of this parish community who sincerely show great love for your church family and society. I admire this parish community who inspired me by your simplicity, honesty and ardent faith in the Eucharist, Adorations, Devotions and Prayers. Andrew VanExem who is a 88 years old parishioner will always be an inspiration to me and so will all the devout faithful; your faithfulness to the church, generous love and great support for the community is just unbeliev- able. It was indeed my joy to do my best to help this community economically, spiritually and socially. And in the journey to accomplish all the goals for this parish community I sincerely thank parish pastoral Council, Finance Council, CWL and K of C and each and every one for your support, help, and encour- agement and for all your gifts and blessings I received at every Christmas and Easter. I truly appreciate your kindness and I ask you that you continue to en- rich your faith, grow in your love for God and for each other and share in your fellowship. In moments of failures and misunderstandings I know that you were patient, kind and tolerant towards me and this also was a very humbling experience that I will always admire of this community. I will miss this community for which I have always cared, loved and prayed every day for the last four and half years. I have run my race and now it’s time to pass the charge on to the new pastor Fr Vincent D’Souza who will continue to love care and pray for you all. Thank you once again and God bless you all.
