The only remaining hotel in the world designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, with an attached bank building also designed by Wright. Wright was commissioned to design both the Park Inn Hotel and City National Bank structures in early 1909. The hotel, completed in 1910, is currently under restoration slated to be completed in 2010.

Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in the Prairie School style and constructed in 1908, the house presents a revolutionary challenge to the very common four-square house of that time. Its open floor plan led to the floor plan of the modern American home. The restored home is furnished with Arts & Crafts and Wright designs of its period. It is the first and only Prairie School house designed in Iowa by Wright.Hours: Third weekend of May–Aug.: Thurs.–Sat., 10 a.m.–5 p.m.; Sun., 1 p.m– 5 p.m. Sept.–Oct.: Sat., 10 a.m.–5 p.m.; Sun., 1 p.m.–5 p.m. (Last tour begins at 4:30 p.m.) Other times by appointment during May–Oct.; 10 minimum.Admission: $5 adults, $1 children under 11.

This public conservation facility is nestled atop the limestone bluffs of the Winnebago River. The center features a variety of displays about the wildlife and natural resources of North Iowa. An outdoor amphitheater, hands-on nature displays, and over nine miles of trails through prairie, forest, and wetland habitat provide remarkable experiences. Virtual geocaching is available. 3 Mason City Veterans Monument

The monument honors over 3,000 veterans with Mason City connections and features 12 Black India Granite stones, each standing 8 feet high and weighing 4,000 pounds.

Prairie School Architectural Tour/ Historical Walking Tour

This is a self-guided tour of the largest group of Prairie School design homes on a unified site, the Rock Crest and Rock Glen area, including a home designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. A walking tour guide book is available for $5 at the Charles H. MacNider Art Museum, The Music Man Square, Mason City Information Center, or the Frank Lloyd Wright Stockman House. An overview of the tour can also be found on the enlarged downtown map on page 20.
