NEW PROJECT SECURED

Another new contract valued at RM115.42 million has landed on thelap of Bina Puri Holdings Bhd, through its wholly-owned subsidiaryBina Puri Sdn Bhd which has accepted the letter of award from ArkitekTM on behalf of the Employer Likas Bay Precinct Sdn Bhd, is for aconstruction of a project known as “KOUMS Asrama” Block A, KotaKinabalu, Sabah.

The works consists of construction and completion of Building Worksand External Works for a block called Block A of “KOUMS Asrama”, aneighteen (18) storey apartments, shop lots and parking bays. It consistsof 38 units of shop lots on the 1st Floor, 497 units of car parks at Level2 to 4 and 476 units of apartments (ranges from 750 sq ft to 850 sq ft)at Level 5 to Level 18 of the building in Kampung Numbok, (within thevicinity of Universiti Malaysia Sabah) Kuala Menggatal, Sabah.

Earlier in October 2013, Bina Puri received the award for constructionof “KOUMS Asrama” (Phase I) valued at RM96.58 million project forLikas Bay Precint Sdn Bhd.

PT. Megapower Makmur, a subsidiary of Bina PuriHoldings Bhd is currently operating a total of 25MWcapacity of micro diesel generated power plants at7 locations in Indonesia including in Toboali,Mentok, Bengkalis, Sei Pakning, Siak and the latestin Pilang, Kepulauan Bangka.

We are also in the midst of constructing a 4.2MWcapacity of Mini Hydro power plant in Bantaeng,Sulawesi Selatan with progress as at endSeptember 2014 reaching 62%. The tenure of PPAis for 15 years effective from the date of its firstcommercial run of the power plant.

BANTAENG-1 mini-hydro power is planned as a"Run Off River". Type of dam construction is in theform of diversion weir type. Weir and power houseis located at the Pattaneteang Village which is about1,400m towards the weir plant and about 100mtowards the power house.

ROAD SAFETY CAMPAIGN By: Hairunnisa Kastolany

In conjunction with the Aidilfitri break andhighlighting the importance of roadsafety during travelling, LATAR incollaboration with various corporationsand government agencies such as MajlisKeselamatan Jalan Raya (MKJR), MajlisDaerah Kuala Selangor, Pejabat TanahKuala Selangor, Jabatan PengangkutanJalan (JPJ) and IPD Kuala Selangororganised the Road Safety Campaign on 25th July 2014.

Taking place at Pasir Penambang, KualaSelangor, the campaign’s objectives wasto instill road safety awareness amongthe motorists during their Hari Raya BalikKampung break. It was also part ofsafety initiatives and efforts taken byLATAR to prevent road fatalities andreduce mishaps during the festiveseason.

On 21st July 2014, the new exit ‘ Susur Keluar Ke Jalan B149 Kundang’ at LATAR Expressway was officially opened to the public byYang Berhormat Datuk Seri Haji Fadillah bin Haji Yusof, Minister of Works Malaysia.

Two off-ramps are being built at the Kundang Interchange to make it more convenient for motorists travelling on the KL-Kuala SelangorExpressway (Latar) to exit to Kuang, Kundang and neighbouring towns.

The ramps will benefit residents in Kundang, Kuang and 120,000 residents around Bandar Tasik Puteri, and shortened travel timebetween Kundang and Kuala Lumpur by at least 30 minutes. The project was completed 24 days ahead from its original scheduleand it was another initiative by the Federal Government.

In view that the Melawati Mall project consists ofmany players with different company background,from project consultants, contractor and sub-contractors, a training was conducted to build aneffective team that can complete the project on time,with good quality, cost-efficient and profitable.

In conjunction with Aidilfitri festival, LATAR Expressway distributed1,000 pieces of free Touch n’ Go cards to the users who travel on thecash lanes of all Toll Plazas at LATAR Expressway on 28th July 2014.On top of that, LATAR also distributed 6,000 free cans of WondaCoffee to its customers.

Since its opening in 2011, LATAR has been distributing thousands offree Touch n’ Go cards to its users being part of its efforts toencourage users to use the electronic payment system which ismuch easier, faster, and safer. Meanwhile, the free distribution ispart of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative and as theirappreciation to the loyal motorists of LATAR.
