Aquaguard – A brand that needs no introductionWith the rising alertness about drinking pure water to lead a healthy life and stay safe from water borne diseases, more and more people have joined the race of buying advanced water purifiers. It is RO that is ruling the roost, the purifying technique being recommended at places where the TDS content in water is very high. There are, no doubt, numerous brands of the RO system in the market. You can even get few of the brands right at home via direct sales. One company that has carved a niche as a household name, maintaining its hold over the years by introducing next generation water purifiers, is Eureka Forbes.

You will often hear the phrase ‘Eureka Forbes RO filter’ in reply to your query about which RO filter is the best in any blog forum – such is the popularity. And who has not heard about the Aquaguard; this brand needs no introduction at all. At a time when the RO system was introduced initially in India, there were hardly any other brands that hit the market. Soon it was the Eureka Forbes RO system that people started using with great satisfaction. The company stays in sync with the latest trends and every Eureka Forbes RO system is a true example of innovation.

Eureka-Forbes Water Purification System has been designed to tackle most of water pollution problems. System is made in Hungary, modular form to treat individual pollutant problems (Sediments, Taste, Odor, Organic Chemicals and Salt), one by one in different stages. Considering the importance of aesthetic value of fresh and smell free water, purification (removal of taste and odor producing chemicals) is done in more than water one stage. For removing excessive amount of salt (brackishness) from, best quality reverse Osmosis Membrane TW30- 1812-50 has been incorporated in the system. Your Reverse Osmosis System has been thoroughly tested and inspected for leaks, product water quality, product water output and shut-off function, for at least 48 hours atour factory. Therefore, the system may have some water in it. You may install the R.O. System on either side of the cabinet panels underneath your kitchen sink.

Important ReminderThe Undersink Reverse Osmosis drinking water appliance is designed to connect permanently to home plumbing system. The appliance should only be connected to municipal water supply, under the following conditions;Water ConditionDo not use the appliance where the water is microbiologically unsafe or the TDS level is above 2,000 ppm. Use the unit with cold water only.Water TemperatureDo not filter water with temperature higher than 38Oc.

Water PressureDo install the appliance only on water lines with a pressure of 10 to 40 psi.

Installation LocationDo not place the appliance at a location with high humidity to prevent damages to theelectrical components. Do not place the

system under sun light or any light sources. Do not spray water or liquid on the appliance.

RECOMMENDED PROCEDURE FOR WATER TESTING

Collection:

1. Water should be collected in a sterile container impervious to light (min. quantity 125 ml).

2. The container should be maintained at 4o C to 10o C during transportation.

3. Water should be transported within one hour and tested in the next two hour of

sampling (i.e. analyzed within 3 hours of sampling).

Purification of drinking water is a very important problem in environmentalengineering. Purification of drinking water is typically achieved via adding adisinfectant. Chlorine is the most common disinfectant used in drinking waterpurification systems because it is inexpensive and destroys a large number ofpathogens. The purification of drinking water involves several stages of treat-ment of the raw water for the removal of suspended solids, color, and bacteriabefore entering the distribution network. Clarification, disinfection, pH adjust-ment, filtration and taste and odor removal are part of the stages of treatment. The quality of drinking water is altered by the use of nitrogen-based fertilizers

Page 10: Market Survey on Aquaguard vs Kent Purifier by Archna tyagi

commonly used in agriculture or products of domestic use. Denitrification ofdrinking water is needed in this case to reduce the concentrations of nitritesand nitrates present in the raw water. However, in this document we emphasizethe controller’s role in the chlorination process since this is the most commonmethod used for the purification of drinking water.Stricter drinking water quality standards demand improvement of controlsystems for water treatment. The regulation of chlorination in drinking watersystems is based on open-loop, manual control; however, several closed-loopcontrollers have been proposed. The application of feedback control in drink-ing water purification systems has been delayed due to the lack of sensors formeasuring chlorine concentration in a reliable fashion. Although chlorine con-centration sensors have been used in large drinking water systems, these sensorsare typically used for monitoring purposes. In this document, we review some techniques used for purifying raw water, and the control strategies proposed so far for trying to supply drinking waterin a reliable manner. This control problem is very complex due to the variablequality of raw water, the seasonal changes that temperature and pH have ondisinfection capabilities, the transport delays associated with the transport timeof water from one point to another, and the multiple-input, multiple-outputnature of the problem (i.e., multiple number of chlorine sources and multiplepoints of water consumption through several different pipe paths). There aretwo approaches that are described in this document: The first one covers theapplication of feedback control for the disinfection of clarified water in a singlepoint of a drinking water plant. The second approach deals with distributedcontrol for the purification of raw water in multiple locations of a drinking waterdistribution system. The efficient operation of a water plant depends upon the success of theclarification stage [1]. In [1] a feedback control scheme is implemented usingcolor and turbidity sensors and variable speed pumps.

Research methodology is a way to systematically solve the

Page 11: Market Survey on Aquaguard vs Kent Purifier by Archna tyagi

research problems. When we talk about the research methodology we don’t talk about the research method but also consider the logic behinds the method use in the context of research results are capable of beings evaluated either by the researcher himself or by others. Here I used descriptive research design. In this type of research method researchers are supposed to describe the research it is done for existing products.

It helps segment and target markets, in some cases describing the situation may provide information and descriptive information is all that is needed to solve business problems. The major emphasis in such studies is on the discovery of the ideas and insights. Research design for such studies must be flexible enough to provide opportunity for considering different aspects of the problem under study.

I collected data from the following primary sources. Primary data for the purposes of collecting data I used following two methods:

a.) Questionaire methodsb.) Personal interview methods

Data CollectionTo collect the data I have carried out a survey in moradabad region. The tools used for data collection are:

Primary data: The primary data are those data which are collected a fresh and for the first time and happen to be

original in character. The primary data to be collected for the study are-By Questionaire:

Questionaire is a formularized instrument for as kind information directly from a respondent and concerning behaviour demography characteristics level of knowledge and attitude believes and feelings.

The term questionaire is a list of obtaining specific information about a defined problem so that the data analysis and interpretation result in better appreciation of the problems. A questionaire form which has to be, completed an interviewer often referred as schedule.

By Personal Interview

Under this method of collecting data there is face to face context with the person from whom the information is obtained. The pattern used is structured and indirect interview.

SECONDARY DATA

Secondary data are those which have already been collected by someone and which have already passed through statistically process.

SAMPLING DESIGN

A sample design is a definite plan for obtaining a sample from a given population. It refers to the technique or the procedure adopted in selecting items for the sample. The main constituents of the sampling design below:

Sampling unit Sampling size Sampling procedures

SAMPLING UNIT

A sampling framework i.e developed for the target population that will be sampled i.e who is to be surveyed/studied.

Consumer

SAMPLE SIZE

Page 14: Market Survey on Aquaguard vs Kent Purifier by Archna tyagi

It is the substantial portions of the target population that are sampled achieve reliable results.

Consumer taken-----50

SAMPLING PROCEDURE

The procedure to choose the respondents to obtain a representative sample a non-probability sampling technique is applied for the target market.

It is purposive sampling which deliberately chooses the particulars units of the universe of constituting a sample on the basis that the small mass that they so select out of a huge one will be typical or representative of the whole.

As it was first project of my life, so it gave me a lot of experience which will be very helpful in my life.

On the basis of that research we find that in case of water purifiers people are much influenced by advertisements and quality.

By this research we analyze that most of the consumers are aware of different brands of water purifiers available in the market and they also understand the importance of water purifiers.

Consumers are quite satisfied with their product because they are aware of different water borne diseases and their purifiers remove these bacterias and viruses from the water and keep them healthy.

Positioning of the water purifiers is good in the market, but there is some more expectation of consumers from these water purifiers companies.

During research, while talking to the consumers I come to know that most of the consumers look for more guarantee/warranty good customer service/ customer care centre and aftersale services.

Page 25: Market Survey on Aquaguard vs Kent Purifier by Archna tyagi

After the completion of the project I have seen the different aspects of this project. Also I have gained some new experience about the consumer research. While surveying, I have met a large number of people, with different perceptions, with different nature, and as a result of this I have learnt a lot of things like how to talk with different people of different behaviour. I am benefited a lot from this survey and I am sure this will certainly help me in future.

Also the outcome that came out from this research work is that in city Moradabad water purifiers are used in wide scale in most of the households. I came across that aquaguard is most admired brand than kent or any other water purifier and is mostly preferred by consumers.

Through this research I also came to know that there is potential market for water purifiers because health is the first prefernce to choose the product.
