How to use Microsoft Security EssentialsPrepared by: Mark Conrad Maramag

Microsoft Security Essentials protects your computer against malicious software.

To scan your PC, select a Scan option.

Quick Scan - scans areas that is most likely to get infected.

Full scan - scans all areas of your computer.

Custom Scan - scans specific areas of your computer only.

Click Scan Now to begin scanning your computer.

Go to Update to update your virus and spyware definitions.

To check for the latest updates, click the Update button.

To view all the potentially harmful items detected click History.

To schedule a scan go to Settings>Scheduled scan

Just simply fill out the schedule form and then Save.

To ensure that your computer will always be protected

Turn the Real-time protection ON

Simply choose Real-time protection on the Settings tab.

Then, simply check all the tick box and then Save.
