PRINCIPLES AND OBJECTIVES OF WSH ACT
• Reduce risks at source by requiring all stakeholders to eliminate or minimise the risks they create.- Examples of risks at source- A stakeholder is any person affected by the WSH Act. Who are the
stakeholders in PSA?
• Industry required to take greater ownership of safety outcomes.- At PSA, we need to set goals (i.e. proactive planning and action) to
ensure a safe workplace
• Prevent accidents through higher penalties for poor safety management.- As long as there’s poor safety management (even before an accident
has occurred), penalties will be imposed.
* Generally, greater accountability of ALL persons - not limited to the occupier.
