Brief History of Children’s Ministry:兒童事工簡史﹕

Sunday school (主日學 )﹕• NYCCC founded in 1994, meeting at Finch

Public School (北約華基於 1994年成立﹐在 Finch Public School 聚會 )

• Children’s ministry started in 1996 with two Sunday school classes: Elementary and JK/SK classes ( 兒童事工於 1996 年以兩班主日學開始﹕小學班及幼稚園班 )

Sunday school (主日學 )﹕• In 2009, children’s ministry grew to 25

children and Sunday school developed into 3 classes from JK to Gr. 7. (2009年﹐兒童事工增長到 25 個小孩﹐主日學增長到三班﹐從幼稚園到七年班。 )

• This year 2013, we have grown to more than 50 children, Sunday school has developed to six classes. ( 今年 2013年﹐我們增長到超過 50 個小孩﹐主日增加到六班。 )

Children worship ( 兒童崇拜 ):

• Started in Dec 2008 with 10 children, three teachers and a few parents helping every Sunday, meeting in the basement. Later moved to the current children worship hall (於 2008年 12 月開始﹐當時只有 10 個小孩﹐ 3 個老師﹐還有幾個家長每星期天去教導小孩。當時在地庫里聚會﹐後來轉到現在的兒童崇拜室。 )

Children worship ( 兒童崇拜 ):

• From 2009-2011, the “Little Discipleship Training Class” was developed to train up some young teens with potential to be young leaders to lead in worship and assist small groups. (從 2009-2011年﹐小門徒訓練班訓練一些有潛質的少年去帶領詩歌和小組。 )

Fellowship ( 兒童團契 ):

• From Sept 2002-2008, the Adventure Club fellowship was established for the children from elementary to junior high to learn God’s Word through fun activities, sports, skits and community service. (從 2002-2008年 ﹐ 我們成立兒童團契給五年到八年班的小孩參加﹐以遊戲﹐運動﹐話劇及社區義務工作的方式去教導兒童聖經真理。 )

Fellowship ( 兒童團契 ):• 2009-2011, we had Awana Club, similar to

Christian scout where children earned award by memory Bible verses, fun activities and sports. (2009-2011年﹐我們曾經舉辦過基督少年軍﹐讓小孩籍着背金句和遊戲去贏取獎勵。 )

• Now these fellowships have evolved into outreach programs and other fellowships for the children and youths in our church. ( 現在我們有給兒童及青少年的外展活動和其他的團契活動。 )

Ephesians 以弗所書 3:16-1916 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

PRAISE AND PRAYER ITEMS FOR CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

Praise God for blessing the Children's ministry that the number of children has grown to double from previous years. There are now between 50 plus children and some new babies too.

Children's Ministry Leaders and Pastors-Pray for God to guide them and reveal to them His will in leading the ministry. May they trust in God's almighty power and depend on His wisdom to give directions to other leaders, serving God in love and unity.

Children's Worship Leaders and Teachers- Praise God for their dedications in serving God and leading others to worship God every Sunday morning. - Pray that the leaders and teachers show the children the right attitude to worship God, it is with a honest and sincere heart.- Pray that God prepares His humble servants to be the singspiration leaders at children's worship.-Pray that God uses teachers' Bible study to strengthen teachers' and helpers' hearts and to equip them to be His faithful servants.

Sunday School Teachers and helpers- Praise God for their patience when teaching their students, and managing the sunday school classes, it can be difficult at times when children don't pay attention. -Pray that God will continue to give them the knowledge of how to train the students, and teach them to learn and apply God's Word in their daily lives.-Pray that God will show them that each child is precious in God's eye, even the most difficult child is never too hard for God to handle.

Parent helpers -Thank the Lord for bringing in parents to help out during worship time and small groups, praise God for their willingness to look after these active children. - May God give them the strength they need and let the children respect them.

Children of all ages who come to worship - Praise God for the children who are serving in the praise team, they are learning how to serve Him at this young age, and set a good example to other children. -Pray for the children to keep up with the good work in the bulletin: memorizing bible verses, keep up with prayer items and helping out their parents at home.-Pray for the children to set good example as Godly children in their communities, in school and neighbourhood , and among their friends. Pray for their faith in God and be strong staying away from temptations of this world.

Children who attend Sunday school classes -Thanks for God's grace that the children are growing strong in His Word and learn to apply the bible to their daily living. Pray that God will help those children who have short attention span to concentrate when the teachers are speaking and to respect them.

New Comers New comers children who are still having trouble understanding English language, and need translations. New comers parents who are new immigrants from China learning to adopt to the western culture. - Pray for parents to gain wisdom from God to raise children according to God's Word and build Godly families.
