    March at Kids Village means celebrating St. Patricks Day with warm Irish

    Soda Bread, Magical Rainbow Mobiles, Sneaky Leprechaun Traps, ando course, a bit o Irish Luck. But the children at Kids Village are what

    make our school Magical throughout the year.

    We wanted to send a very special thank you to all o the amilies that have registered

    or next year. Your support means so much to us, THANK YOU! I you have not

    yet registered or next year, there is still time. You can fnd registration orms online

    or at the ront desk.

    Its hard to believe that summer is just around the corner with cold temperatures

    keeping us bundled up. But, it will be here beore you know it and with it comes

    Summer in the Village! At Kids Village we believe in developing a childs whole-sel

    and our summer camps are no exception. We provide an environment o learning,socializing, and creativity that cant be beat. We will be oering a discounted

    rate i you register beore May 15th. See the ront desk or our website or more

    inormation.

    Our Daddy Daughter Ball was a huge success! We hope all o you Fathers and

    Fairies made some great memories. We have had many o you ask When is it the

    boys turn? So. . . . get ready to start your engines, because we are gearing up or

    a very special night o Mamas, Boys, and Racing Toys. e night will include

    our own Kids Village Pinewood Derby, complete with dinner rom the Checkered

    Flag Diner, a Winners Circle awards ceremony, a photo op with the Pit Crew and

    much more. Mark your calendars or March 31st and speed on over now to pick up

    your tickets.

    And last, but o course not least, our students are getting ready or their Class

    Programs during the week o March 13th - 16th. e children have been working

    hard on the songs they have learned and a ew o the classes have been memorizing

    parts o a play to share with you. Its sure to be one or the Family Video Archive.

    Have a Happy St. Patricks Day! May your blessings outnumber the shamrocks

    that grow, and may trouble avoid you wherever you go. Irish blessing

    March is full of activities that will keep your Tator Tot

    engaged and excited about learning as well as give them

    a little push to keep them working hard. We have made

    excellent progress this year and many of our Tator Tots are

    reading independently. Way to go! Here is a closer look at

    some of our lessons for this month:

    Week #1 February 27th - March 2nd

    Learn to identify upper and lowercase E, un-blend sounds

    in words, identify apostrophe and quotation marks, identify

    before, aer, and between, cover a design with pattern blocks in

    more than one way, and identify ordinal position.

    Week #2 March 5th - 9th

    Learn to identify upper and lowercase Y, practice alphabetizing,

    introduce the sight word you, pay for items using pennies, sort

    objects and identify the sorting rule, identify a cube and count

    with one-to-one correspondence.

    Week #3 March 12th - 16th

    Learn to identify upper and lowercase D, nd the initial, medialand nal sounds in words, introduce the sight word said,

    match a number card to a set of objects, create line segments,

    shapes, and designs on a Geoboard, estimate a collection, and

    count by 10s.

    Week #4 March 19th - 23rd

    Learn to identify upper and lowercase V, count syllables in

    words, practice building words, introduce the sight word

    have, identify dimes, write numbers 1-10, identify and create

    ABB sound and movement patterns, and count dimes to 50

    cents.

    Week #5 March 27th - 30th

    Learn to identify upper and lowercase J, introduce the sightword do, discuss the use of capital letters, create a real graph,

    identify the range and mode on a graph, copy and extend

    patterns.

    Honesty and Loyalty go hand-in-hand because loyaltyis a trait built upon trust. ey are two o the most

    important values we can teach our children. Learningto be honest will develop a childs moral and emotionalstrength as well as build solid sel-esteem and character.

    We will spend plenty o time role-playing to practice thevalue o Honesty as well as sharing stories that emphasize

    the importance o honest behavior.

    Do you know the phases of the moon? We

    will be learning all about our amazing moon

    this month. From learning characteristics of

    the moon, to understanding why it seems to

    change shape, to learning all about the rst

    moon landing, by the end ohe month we

    will be Moon Experts.

    Art

    Georgia OKeefe, Claude Monet, and Vincent

    Van Gogh are a few of the artists we will be

    studying this month as we look at art that

    depicts nature. Well make our own OKeefe

    inspired owers, use watercolor paints to

    create our own water lily pond, and use

    textured tempera paints to create a Starry

    Night sky.

    KitchenKeeping our Kitchen clean is part of making

    cooking a fun and healthy experience. is month

    we are learning why it is so important to keep things

    clean and tidy, but of course we always get a little

    messy as we mix up a few recipes too. Here are a

    few things well be making this month: Week #1 -

    Extraordinary Eggs, Week #2 - Yummy Yam Fries,

    Week #3 - Doughnuts, Week #4 - Veggie Wraps, and

    Week #5 - Jell-O.

    MusicWe can hardly wait for our Class Programs.

    e children are working hard to put on an

    amazing performance! We will also spend

    some time learning the rhyme

    Little Boy Blue.

    Social StudiesWhat is la mesa, la silla, and el espejo?

    Maybe your Tator Tot can help you out. We

    are learning the names for household items

    in Spanish. So brush up on your Spanish

    Vocabulary because your child might just

    ask if they can comer galletas en la cama.
