ST. MONICA PRAYED AND WEPT WITH HOPE FOR

THE CONVERSION OF HER HUSBAND AND SON FOR 30 YEARS!

St. Monica Parish was founded in 2013 by Bishop David

to be proclaimed and lived in the upper Beaver Valley. The

Holy Eucharist has been praised and adored in this area

since 1854. St. Monica Parish with the assistance of our

Patroness, and her son St. Augustine, will continue to

spread the Catholic faith and to be the light of Christ to all

Dear Fellow Parishioners, You may have already noticed that when you received your Pittsburgh Catholic last week that our own, Saint Monica Academy seventh grader, Ben Laderer, is featured as a “Student of the Month.” We hope we are continuing to make you aware of the many and varied attributes that come from sending your children to Saint Monica Academy. Academics, music, art, sports/athletics, etc. are also offered in the public school systems. But we really prosper in the areas of faith, charity, sensitivity, helpfulness, understand-ing, service, and well I think you get the picture. But maybe you also didn’t know….we have FUN. If you know any stu-dent who attends our school, just ask them. We are really like a family and watch out for and embrace each other. It is one of those things that has to be experienced to appre-ciate. If you have children or grandchildren, please don’t hesitate to contact us for more information. I sincerely thank everyone for coming together to make the Fish Dinners so successful. You may have already heard the saying “Don’t do as I do, do as I say.” Fortunately that does not apply here. We are all shining “examples” for our children and young people. All individuals from the parish and the school came together side by side, working hand in hand. And I really believe that everyone who “worked” would be willing to tell you that it was really fun! The Night at the Races will be held this Friday, April 10, at Founders Hall. Please support this fun event. Tickets with a horse are $25, with jockey are $50 and General Admission is $15. Purchase or reserve tickets by calling Teresa at 724-888-9828. Our teachers will be in Pittsburgh on Wednesday for a Day of Reflection so that will begin our students Easter break. We will return to classes on Monday, April 6. As we prepare for Holy Week and Easter, please know that on behalf of our staff & student body of Saint Monica Academy, I wish you and yours a most holy Easter. Many of you may be traveling and we pray that your travels will also be safe. Thank you for your continued support of your parish school and, God Bless Mr. Brad Diamond, Principal
