Dear Parents/Guardians:A very special group of students were recognized during our annual National Elementary Honor Society Induction Ceremony on February 10, 2015. Students who received high honors in grades four and five were inducted into this prestigious organization. During this ceremony students were honored, as they received certificates of recognition for their accomplishments. Students enjoyed a reception in the company of their parents, families and school administration. Our Annual Black History Program was another successful event! The Village Choir, Lady Panthers Step Team and the Glee Club performed significant songs and dances that reflected black history around the world. The program highlighted black history and its influence on performance arts in various parts of the world. Our students gracefully displayed their talent as they reminded everyone the influence of Black History in our society. At Village Elementary our students in grade 3-5 grade have been diligently working on preparing for the upcoming Florida Standards Assessment. Our fourth and fifth graders will be assessed on the writing portion of the English Language Arts on March 4-5. Students will continue with the second portion of test on March 31. We are confident that our students are well prepared for this assessment. We ask that students get a good night’s sleep and a healthy breakfast before testing.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me at 754-322-8750.
Respectfully Yours,
Deborah A. PeeplesDeborah A. Peeples, Principal

What is all the squealing laughter coming from the Media Center after school on Wednesdays? It is a group of 2nd and 3rd grade students known as the Crazy 8s. The children have used glow sticks to create geometric shapes, played War of the Dice, and decoded various secret messages. No worksheets—just fun!

Can you imagine never owning a pair of shoes? EVERY PAIR COUNTS!
We are collecting gently worn shoes to help support Micro Enterprise Programs in Haiti. Our second hand shoes are used by people in impoverished countries where they can repurpose and sell them. This enables them to form an income so they can pay for housing, food, educational expenses, etc. This will also raise funding for our students at Village Elementary
