Intergenerational News:

Did you know we do Yoga? This past week

KELC took a small group (pictured below) to the

Gathering Place and did Yoga together.

Below, Dan Reiber came to visit us in the

classroom and danced with the children. We’ve

missed Dan and were glad to have him back in the

classroom to move and dance with.

Stop by our Intergen board around the corner

from Giraffes’ room. We have some great

pictures of Japanese cherry blossoms that the

children painted with our Grandfriends.

A Note from KaO:

To the families who trust the care of their

children to Kendal… Please consider if the “elders” you know and

love might also benefit from our compassionate

care---- We currently have open private rooms

in our Nursing and Assisted Living wings and

we’d be delighted if you’d help “get the word

out” about this wonderful opportunity!

From Your Child’s Teacher:

From the Classroom:

March is here! We want to start by giving a BIG thank you to everyone that donated shoes for families in Spain! We had 32

pairs of shoes donated! Thank you! We have finished our clothing study and started our study on boxes. The children seem

very excited. When coming in the room you can see how boxes have taken over! We made dramatic play into a post office

using a box as the big blue mailbox you would see at the post office. The children really love this space. They are writing

letters to everyone in their families. We also have a big tunnel in the music area made from a box. The children are having a

blast crawling through that and playing games like follow-the-leader through it.

Our February ELI trip was super fun! The children got to learn all about their organs that are inside their bodies. They got to

look at Stuffie’s parts and put them back into his body. They loved being a doctor. Our next ELI trip is not until April 2nd.

We are still looking for parents to volunteer to drive their children to the April 30 trip to Karamu House. Please let us know as

soon as possible if you could help out. The children always love these performances and we would hate to have to miss it.

Have a great month!

Your KELC Teaching Team,

Sara, Karen, Jenn, and Julie
