The Bath County FCCLA chapter received the following information about a project that our chapter would like to participate in. We will be taking several FCCLA members to the State FCCLA meeting March 25-27 and we hope we can help out in the great cause listed below. “Tatums Bags of Fun” is a non-profit organization that works hard to bring joy to kids with cancer while they are in the hospital. They fill the bags with goodies to help get the kids through the long hospital stays. We thought it would be great to get this organization started in Kentucky to help kids battling cancer. The bags are filled with board games, dolls, books, coloring books, crayons, trucks, cars, etc. All the items for the bags have to be new. The FCCLA members attending the state meeting will drop the items off as they walk into Opening Ceremony on March 25, 2013. *All donations of new items will need to be dropped off at Bath County High School before 3:30 on March 22, 2013. Any junior or senior that is interested in signing up for the ACT prep during Study Zone, please see Ms. Porter for a schedule change. Mr. Whitt will be conducting the ACT prep course, and it will be limited to 10 students (preferably juniors or seniors).

Students going on the senior trip that did not get the fundraiser packet will need to see Mrs. Erwin. All money raised from the

fundraiser will go towards meals while on the trip. The turn in day for the fundraiser is: March 12th. A Parent/Student meeting for all seniors attending the trip will be held on

Thursday, March 14th at 6:00 in the library.

Congratulations to all the HOSA members that participated last week’s competition. Megan Leach and Jessica Copher came in 4th place in the Public Health Category. Hannah Smoot came in a very impressive 1st place!!! Her category was Health and Wellness, Nutrition.

Bath County Education Association student scholarship deadline to apply is 3 p.m. on April 30, 2013. 16th Region Education Scholarship- for seniors going to major in education. Must have 3.0 GPA and 22ACT Please see your

Guidance Counselor today for more information.

Kentucky Federation of Republican Women Scholarship Program

$1000 scholarship awarded to senior girl who has been politically active during high school, must be a

registered Republican, 2 letters of recommendation, and essay about a Republican woman you admire.

Deadline to apply is April 1, 2013. Applications in the Guidance Office.

Great Clips Scholarship for any High School Graduate that is entering cosmetology school in 2013 $500.

Deadline is March 29, 2013

BigSun Scholarship The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to continue to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. We are offering an annual scholarship to a deserving student. All student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in.

The successful applicant will be a high school senior or be attending a post secondary institute and currently involved in some sport at that institution or in the community..
