Questions for
Students : Name the first 7 books
of the Bible.
Who was called a
Mighty Warrior? Gideon
(Gedeón) or Samuel?
Who was the first King
of Israel?
Name all 7 sacraments. Name one of the Works
of Mercy
Faith, Hope, and Love (1 Cor 12:31-13:13)
la Fe, la Esperanza, y el Amor (1 Cor 12:31-13:13) Imagine St. Paul as an old man. He is writing to Christians who live in Corinth (a city in Greece). He wants them to know that nothing they do will “count” unless they love the people they are helping. Imagínense que San Pablo es un hombre viejo, es-
cribiendo una carta a los cristianos que viven en
Corinto (una ciudad en Grecia). El quiere enseñarles
que no hay nada bueno que pueden hacer para los
otros, sin el amor.
Abraham looks up into the sky. Do you ever have an experi-ence unlike any other? Abra-ham did. In Genesis 15 we read that God told Abraham to look up into the sky and try to count the stars. God promised that Abraham would have so many children and grandchildren that he would not be able to count them. Abra-ham believed God through faith.
A veces tienes una experiencia ex-
traordinaria? Eso pasó a Abram.
Capítulo 15 de genesis—Dios dijo,
“Mira al cielo y cuenta las estrel-
las.” Dios prometió que Abram tu-
viera tantos descendientes. Por fe,
Abram creó en las palabras de
Dios.
The Winds and the Waves Obey. Do you sometimes think that God is asleep? Here is what hap-
pened to the dis-ciples. Their boat was getting swamped (filled with water) and they thought they were going to drown. They
woke Jesus up and he calmed the wind and the waves by speaking to them. He said, “Why didn’t you have faith?” Piensas a veces que Dios duerme?
Eso pasó a los discípulos, que su
barco se llenó rápido con agua.
Pensaron que se ahogaran. Des-
pertaron a Jesús. El calmó las olas
y el viento. Les dijo, “Porque no
tuvieron fe?”

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED Do you have some time on Monday mornings (8:30—Noon) to volunteer at
the Parish? St. Brendan is looking for several people to help us sort, count
