Marcel Sangers welcome to the next level

Ambition and devotion are raptures that pushed Marcel Sangers to the top of Dutch pigeon racing at the end of the last century … the top of Holland, underlined with National acebirds and championships. A star status that blossomed the last ten years into performances of an unassailable level … and with that Marcel Sangers became the absolute nr. 1 of the Dutch long distance territory.

Base of the strain Marcel Sangers is in the old ‘Famous 05’ Camphuis lines … the phenomenal 1. Nat. acebird middle distance whose descendants ruled in the Zutphen region and far, far beyond. “In the time there were no better pigeons; I had to have them to succeed in pigeon sport,” Marcel says. In that picture a youngster Marcel raised for Peter van Osch from his ‘443’ (best Nat. racing cock over 3 years) gave a super injection … this red cock grew out to founding cock ‘The Super Breeder’ … a super formula that brought Marcel many highlights around the change of the millennium, including a/o:

With a clear goal in the back of his mind, Marcel went to Gerard Koopman to get reinforcement in 2002 … Marcel wanted to become a member in the ‘hall of fame’ in long distance racing … excelling on the heaviest one day discipli-ne, where real top pigeons stand out in the crowd. An important role for that was reserved for the new purchases from Ermerveen, with amongst them several children to ‘Kleine Dirk’, but also to other Koopman super pigeons.

Especially cross products from the old Sangers base and Koopman pigeons, brought an entire new dimension to pigeon racing ... in 2005 and 2006 a/o:1.-4.-5.-6.-7.-8.-16.-etc. NPO Orleans against 18,127 birds in 20054. The old Sangers strain with now a great slice of Koopman mixed in, was brought to perfection by bringing in some top racers that Marcel promoted up to super breeders. Most important pigeons were ‘The Golden Crown’ (2x 1. against over 14,000 b.), ‘Pigem’ (2. Nat. Chantilly) and ‘Hayabusa King’ (6x 1. in massive competition) … the way ‘the modern Sangers pigeons’ now dominates Dutch pigeon racing, is like never shown before. Even after Marcel moved from Zutphen to Eefde in the winter 2007/2008 and he first entered racing with a respectable team of widowhood cocks and hens in 2009, he grew further to be the best Dutch long distance performer, winning a/o:
