    B. The Seriousness of the Offense, Deterrence,and the Need to Protect the Public

    Def endant was convi ct ed of t aki ng par t i n a nar cot i cs

    nar cot i cs. I t i s a ser i ous of f ense. As di scussed above, however ,3 I n asser t i ng t hat a sent ence of 135 mont hs woul d be suf f i ci ent

    t o puni sh t he def endant f or hi s conduct , t he gover nment i s notdi sagr eei ng wi t h t he concl usi ons of t he USPO t hat t he f act s of t hi scase suppor t a gui del i nes cal cul at i on of 37 and a sent enci ng r ange of210 mont hs.
