Don’t be surprised to meet many of the winery owners, winemakers, and other wine lovers during your visit. People are drawn to us for the experience in our indoor and outdoor tasting rooms. They leave with shared stories and a sense of belonging. They know they are valued and appreciated here.

Our wineries vary in settings with most having spectacular views of the mountain ranges, picnic areas, and perfect venues for a private party or wedding. An easy drive from anywhere in the Bay Area, we have become the perfect getaway for local wine tasting.

Perhaps most importantly, our wines are superb. We believe that good wine begins with the best grapes, grown in the richest soil, cared and tended. Numerous medals, awards, and top reviews are just some of the recognition our wineries have experienced. Yes, it’s all well-deserved, but what’s most important to us is passion. Our passion comes from producing great wine for you and while the winemaking process varies from winery to winery, excellent results extend across the region, guaranteeing that there’s a wine here for every palate.

The Santa Clara Valley American Viticultural Area was one of the first commercial wine-producing regions in California and possibly the United States. We take our winemaking seriously, whether it be a winery with roots more than one hundred years old, innovative newcomers who love to explore new varieties and techniques, or a fascinating combination of the two. We have a very long history of grape growing and winemaking that dates back to the days of the Spanish Missions.

Throughout the year our wineries host many events. From our popular summer music series concerts to BBQs, Bottle Your Own and Harvest Festivals as well as a full list of events for our exclusive wine club members.

The Wineries of Santa Clara Valley Association hosts Passport Weekend twice a year which has become one of the most popular events in the South Bay. It includes Friday night wine tasting and appetizers from many of the wineries and local restaurants in a single location followed by wine tasting Saturday and Sunday on the Wine Trail with winery tours, food, music, great wines and special discounts at our wineries.
