Prep girls celebrating another hockey victory this week for Team BO! For the fridge... Pre-Prep Boarding On Saturday, following a morning of sporting activities with Mr Mathias, our boarders have chosen their own activities and will be heading off to the woods for outdoor activities and then inside to warm up for board games, hide and seek and card games. Sunday the children will be wrapping up before heading off for a trip to e Alpine Snow Centre in Southampton for some fun on the doughnuts and then into West Quay for a shopping spree. Please see the notice board outside Pre-Prep for information on our new pick up arrangements. From Monday 30th January all children in Reception, Year 1, 2 and 3 will remain in Pre-Prep until 4pm. If you are collecting your children between 3.30pm and 4pm please do so from the following classrooms: Monday: Year 1 classroom Tuesday: Year 2 classroom Wednesday: Year 3 classroom Thursday: Reception classroom Friday: Year 1 classroom If you are collecting your child after 4pm, please collect as normal from the Pre-School building. Many Thanks The weekly Maths Challenge is still going strong - don’t forget that there are new puzzles and challenges each week to enter. Simply come to Mrs Savages Year 4 classroom to collect your challenge each Thursday morning and return it to the pink box before the following Wednesday morning. Every correct entry receives 5 stars! In Science, Year 6 are studying current and voltage in circuits and will now being undertaking some electrical challenges! Year 7 have been working with Mr Polansky in Mathematics on a card matching activity to identify inverse relationships when calculating increases and/ or decreases using fractions, percentages and decimals. For example, did you know that to undo (reverse) an increase of one fifth you need a decrease of one sixth; to undo an increase of one sixth you need a decrease of one seventh? Our Snack Shop is now OPEN! Our new Senior School snack shop will be open from Monday 30th January each day serving healthy snacks. This will initially be open to pupils in Y9, opening to Years 7 and 8 once routines are established. On Saturday 28th January it is Chinese New Year. Little Acorns will be learning all about the celebration, exploring the year of the rooster! The Pre-School environment will be changing into a Chinese restaurant where children can taste and explore different Chinese foods, as well as serve it to their friends. Those wishing to drop off at the usual time please take your child to the dining hall, if they are in EYFS or Pre-Prep. Children in Year 4 and above can come into the formal library, through the main front door, where they will be supervised until the staff meeting has finished.. SENIOR SCHOOL OPEN EVENING ursday 2nd March, 4pm to 6pm. Following on from the great success of our first Year 9 GCSE Options evening, that took place in September, we will be holding a further open event for all Boundary Oak pupils and parents, currently in Year 6 to 8. roughout the evening you will have the opportunity to speak to our Senior school teachers, asking them any question you may have on the GCSE curriculum, as well as look around our range of GCSE subjects and what each subjects entails. e subject choice may be expanded as we grow. A BIG thank-you to all the children that have donated their favourite books to the School Library so far. It is very much appreciated and we have loved receiving your books! We’re all looking forward to what will be arriving next week! Don’t forget that each pupil that donates a book will receive a certificate and a show up for your participation. I’m curious.... just what will you be kind enough to donate?
