• Machine production efficiency
• Sales activity & performance
• Operational data from newly acquired
companies
Approach
• Address immediate reporting deficiencies: 42 hours
over 16 business days: 4 KPI and exceptions-based
dashboards highlighting issues with on-time
delivery, refreshed daily.
• Rapid iteration of subsequent reports: 10 hours
per dashboard to deliver remainder of the quoting,
shipments, bookings, and plant variance
dashboards.
• Full deployment took 293 hours of effort at cost of
$60K; 4 BMI resources to develop visualizations on
465K transactions generated by 2 ERP systems.

Situation
Outcomes
• 28 reports refreshed up to 6 times daily to provide performance insights.
• All reports available by browser/phone/tablet/email.
• Shift to data-driven culture. 3.5 months into BI deployment there are 40 unique users (35 using sales reports and 17
using operations reports).
• Gaps in data exposed, leading to improved compliance on data entry and sales-funnel reporting.
