Short or Long Call?

Open a 2G log and select “GSM Layer 3 Signaling” then right click on “Send to Messages

View”

In the “Search Text” put CC: Connect then filter

Conclusion: Call connected at 16.04.41.230 and was disconnected at 16.16.00.793, so is clearly

a long call. Normally a short call is less than 1 minute.

GSM 900 or GSM 1800?

First you must know that channel number (BCCH) in GSM 900 is defined between 0-124.

For GSM 1800 the BCCH is defined in 512-885, as you can see in the following table.

Conclusion: BCCH values are 14,16,19… so you have a GSM 900

How put the call drop in the map?

Step 1 Open the event “Call Ending GSM” as you can see in the following image:

Step 2 Drag the “MO GSM Call Dropped” to the map

View”

Conclusion: Call connected at 14.57.59.833 and was disconnected at 15.53.14.540, so is clearly

a long call. Normally a short call is less than 1 minute.

TEMS Options

Composite(Integrated)

You can organize the “DataSets” (logs) by composites. Creating composites you can separate

the logs for example by MS and day.

Create composite separated by MS

Step 1 Select “Composite (Integrated)” then right click and select “Create/Edit Static

Composite DataSet…”

Step 2 Create a new composite. In this example will be “General_Tarija_MS1”.

Step 3 Now you have two options: “By Drag & Drop” or “By Spread Sheet Filtering”.

Step 4 Click on “Refresh Spread Sheet” and then s elect all MS1. Save the composite.

Create composite separated by MS and day

Step 1 For this example will be “General_Tarija_MS1_01_01_2001”. So you must uncheck all

the others days.

Step 2 Confirm if only the day 01_01_2001 for MS1 is selected. Save the composite.

UDR Drawing

Show only the samples in the User Defined Region. You can use UDR for 2G or 3G.

Step 1 Select “UDR Drawing” on the left corner. For example draw a rectangle around the

site.

Step 2 Save the UDR.

Step 3 Go to the composite and select “Generate Report”

Step 4 Select the “Excel Report Template”, then click on “Default Geo Region” and select the

UDR. Finally click on “Generate” and wait until the excel opens.

Excel will automatically open when “Generate Report” was done.

Note (First time use): If necessary load the excel template in “Report Template Builder”

Sector Groups (3G)

You only can use the sector groups for 3G before and after the swap.

Step 1 In the map view select “Sector Selector”, then click on each sector

Step 2 Right click and save the sector group

Step 3 In this example for “MEK_Before_Atlas” you must select the composite

“Maroc_2G_3G_Before” then right click and select “Generate Report”.

Step 4 Select the sector group in the data filtering and generate. Wait until the excel opens.

Excel will automatically open when “Generate Report” was done.

metric.

2G search for the cell id

3G search for the PSC

Step 4 Select “Static Variables” then insert the values and save.
