10.10 Student feedback mechanism on Institutional Governance / faculty

performance

Yes

Feedback is taken from students on all the faculty members handling the Theory and

lab classes in the middle of every semester. The student name is kept confidential and only

the HOD and the concerned staff are allowed to see the feedback given by the students. The

HOD gives his comments / instructions based on the feedback to the concerned faculty and

the concerned faculty gives his review on the feedback obtained, along with the necessary

steps required to satisfy the students’ needs.

Students are required to give grading to the faculty from 1 – 5 for each of the

parameter mentioned in the feedback form. 1 signifies Poor, 2 signifies Average, 3 signifies

Good, 4 signifies Very Good and 5 signifies Excellent. The feedback form consists of the

following parameters.

i. Subject Planning, ii. Topic Planning, iii. Topic Introduction, iv. Co-relation with adjacent

topics, v. Explanation, vi. Knowledge depth, vii. Interaction, viii. Class timings, ix.

Communication, x. Board work, xi. Assignments, xii. Application, xiii. Access for

discussion, xiv. Class Control, xv. Evaluation of Mid exams and Assignments

10.11 Grievance Redressal mechanism for faculty, staff and students. Yes

Grievance Redressal Mechanism for faculty, staff and students

It is planned to redress the grievances of staff and students at different levels. The

Management, Principal and Heads redress the grievances of staff. The representation of

deserving staff is given sympathetic favourable consideration by the management. Heads

and Principal take initiative to counsel the aggrieved staff. If necessary, their case is

presented to the management.

The problems of students concerned to academic and social fronts are mostly dealt with

by staff. Class teachers persuade students weak in studies and irregular in attendance.

The academic doubts of the students are patiently clarified in and off the classroom.

Students with undesirable habits are counseled for their reform and improvement of their

all-round performance. Wherever/whenever the immature students exhibit aggressive

behavior against other students special committees are formed to appropriately treat the

guilty realize their errors and set right their conduct, and to mitigate the mental trauma of

the affected students.

10.18 Counseling / Mentoring:

20 students have been allotted to a member of faculty who acts as the counselor for those

students. The counselors monitor the student attendance, academic performance and overall

discipline. In addition to the regular academics, counseling classes have been held in order to

COLLEGE CULTURAL & LITERARY ACTIVITIES

1. On the eve of Godavari Pushkaram, by the order of Vice-Chancellor, JNTU-K intra-

collegiate competitions are conducted on 02-07-2015 in our college. In elocution Mr.

P. S. Rama Rao of III year IT got first place and Mr. M.T.D.S. Phanindra of III year

ECE got second place and they were selected for District level competitions.

2. On the eve of Godavari Pushkaram, by the order of Vice-Chancellor, JNTU-K, District

level competitions were conducted in our college on 07-07-2015. Mrs. A. S. Phani

Kumari acted as District Level Coordinator for the competitions. Again in District

Level Elocution competition Mr. P. S. Rama Rao of III year IT got first place and Mr.

M.T.D.S. Phanindra of III year ECE got second place.

3. Dental camp was conducted on 25-07-2015 by Dr. P. Sridhar MDS. Orthodontist, Siri

Dental Clinic in our college.

4. A skit competition on ‘Organ Donation’ was conducted by Andhra Loyola College,

Vijayawada on 06-09-2015. From our college 5 teams participated in the competition.

Mr. R. Kodanda Ram of II year AE and his team won first place and Mr. R. Kodanda

Ram won ‘Best Actor’ individual prize.

5. Vijayawada Rotary Club conducted competitions in Elocution, Quiz and Selfie on 23-

09-2015. Mr. P. S. Rama Rao of III year IT got first place in Elocution.

6. Radio Mirchi program was conducted on 01-10-2015. Many students won gift

vouchers in fun games conducted Radio Mirchi.

7. Radio Mirchi of Vijayawada conducted competitions in Solo dance, group dance and

singing. 6 members were selected in the competitions. M. Anusha Naidu of IV year

EEE, K. Divya Meena of III year EEE, Jai Pal of III year CSE, Rakesh of II year MBA,

Hemanth of III year EEE, P. Pavani of III year CSE and G. Aamani of III year IT

participated in singing, solo dance and group dance.

8. On 02-12-2015 our students participated in various competitions organized by the

government of A.P. on Youth Festival at Ghantasala Music College, Vijayawada. M.

Ramya Sangeetha of IV year EEE won First place in drawing, R. Geetha Madhuri of

IV year ECE won First place in Mono-action, K. Gangadhar of II year AE won First

place in instrumental music, P. S. Rama Rao of III year IT won second place in

Elocution and K. Divya Meena of III year EEE won second place in classical music.

9. Arshabharathi Foundation of Vijayawada region conducted Essay writing competition

on ‘Swami Vivekananda’s contribution to India from 1897 to 1903’ on 03-01-2016.

Many students of our college participated in that even. V. Krishna Vamsi Praneeth of II

year Civil got consolation prize among 800 participants.

10. On 19-01-2016 Election Commission of India conducted Elocution, Quiz and Drawing

competitions at VR Siddhartha Engineering College. MTDS Phanindra of III year ECE

won First place in elocution, R. Geetha Madhur of IV year ECE, R. Kumudavalli of IV

year EEE, VVS Arun Kumari of IV year EEE won second place in Quiz and K. Sai

Pooja of IV year EEE won third place in drawing..They were given prizes on National

Voters’ Day i.e. on 25-01-2016.

A Techno- Cultural festival is organized on 25th

February. Technical Paper

Presentation contest, Technical Quiz are held in all branches of Engineering (CSE, IT, ECE,

EEE, MEC, Civil, AE and ECM) apart from MBA and MCA. CAD Contest, Model

exhibition were held at the central level. Business Quiz, Young Manager and Market Makers

were held for MBA students competitions were also held in cultural events viz. Classical

Dance, Western Dance, Folk Dance, Singing (Solo and Group). In literary events

competitions were held in extempore floor crossing, Group Discussion Mock press and

Personality contest. 1180 students participated in various competitions, 95 Models were

displayed. 159 teams participated in General Quiz.

SITAR-2K16 could bring the students on to a common platform to showcase their

talent, refine their skill, improve their organizational abilities and promote leadership qualities.

There was huge participation in each event and the participants has tremendous competitive

spirit. Furthermore, the event could foster a congenial environment on the campus with

hundreds of students acting as volunteers with the real team spirit. Faculty members guided

the students to work with disciplined enthusiasm for the success of SITAR.
