Readings for Day Mass Easter Sunday

Acts 10:34, 37-43. This is Peter ’s address to the Roman centur ion Cornelius and his household, who were non- Jews, but who were to become the very first

Christian converts. Peter’s account of Jesus’ resurrection succinctly ‘covers all the bases’ of our Gospel

message, referred to as ‘the kerygma.’ Ps 117:1-2, 16-17, 22-23, R/ v 24. Our Lord Jesus has opened the doors to Heaven for us.

Col 3:1-4. With Jesus we die to our old life in Baptism and like him are supernaturally r aised by the grace of God to the new life of Christians. “When Christ is revealed – and he is your life –

you too will be revealed in all your glory with him.” Jn 20:1-9. Mary of Magdala is the fir st to discover the empty tomb and r epor t back to the Apostles. They don’t believe her and set out running. Peter is first to enter the empty tomb. “He

say and he believed.” Out of the next 31 popes after him 26 were martyred for their faith in Christ’s resurrection. You don’t get more solid testimony.
