HI EVERYONE!The countdown to the QLD Championships has begun!

    Although we are already looking

    forward to the Queensland State

    Championships in December, this

month was still intense and full of

    excitements for the Mighty Makos.

A small team competed at the

    Noosa Eyeline 1000 Ocean Swim

while the junior swimmers swam at

    the Cooroy Twilight Meet, both

    teams enjoyed great success.

Following the QLD Long CourseQualifying Meet#2, the Nudgee

Brothers A Grade meet was the

last opportunity for our swimmers to

    gain qualifying times or better

current personal best times for the

    State Titles.

    The club continued its successful

    fundraising activities, including a

    senior member jumping off an

    aeroplane and families putting

together a raffle prize for the

    Christmas club Fun Night.

Well done to all competing at the Eyeline 1000 Ocean Swim at Noosa. What an exciting race it was!

As part of the annual Noosa Triathlon MultiSport Festival, the Eyeline 1000 is one of themost prestigious Australian ocean swims andwas well-contested again this year by top-ranked swimmers, including the Grimseybrothers (remember Trent Grimsey breaking theworld record for a one-way swim of the EnglishChannel in September?), four-time Australiansurf ironman champion and two-time OlympianKy Hurst, Olympians Melissa Gorman, Meagen

Nay and Bronte Barratt, just to name a few ofthe competitors.

Makos had seven swimmers in the one-kilometerrace and both the age-groupers and the elitecategory swimmers did exceptionally well.Special mention should go to Chelsea Gubecka whowon the elite womens category with a dramaticfinish, taking home the $1100 prize money.Congratulations Chelsea!

Well done to all who competed at the Cooroy Twilight meet. It was an excellent meet to give our young and

budding swimmers more exposure to the competition environment. The Makos swam very well, achieving

plenty of personal best times and collecting 3 gold, 5 silver and 6 bronze medals. Special mention should go

to Sarah Wallace. This was Sarah's first carnival ever, which she thoroughly enjoyed.

Congratulations should also go to Cerissa Boddington, Callie Brutnell, Dayzee Firth, Alice Hermans, Maia

Liow, Alanah Pace, Sasha Pace and Phoebe Shapland, you all did very well and the club is very proud of you!

Thank you to all the parents who helped and a

huge thank you to Michael for being the coach

of the day. Thank you should also go to the

Brutnell and Wallace families for the great

    photos.

Great work everyone, congratulations again! Results and photos are available on the website.
