UNet Choices Conference 24 June 2016 University of Reading
Making the right choiceTeachers’ Programme
The UNet Partnership
UNet is a partnership of six leading
universities Bath, Cardiff, Oxford, Reading,
Southampton and Imperial College London.
We all offer extra support to sixth form
and college students from families without
a background of university study who are
applying to leading universities.
Choices Conference
UNet partners organise an annual Choices
Conference for students planning to make an
application to a leading university in the region.
Students have the opportunity to: attend a
Higher Education Fair; participate in workshops
to help them choose the right course; take part
in UCAS personal statement sessions; find out
about student budgeting; and explore career
opportunities with graduates.
This year as part of the Conference we are
giving teachers the opportunity to come
together as part of the programme of the day.
Teachers will have the opportunity to find out:
l how to support their students in choosing
the right course and university
l how to assist students in making competitive
applications to leading universities
l about the range of additional programmes
offered by universities to support students
