Mood boards Mood boards and sample boards are used in

conjunction with 2D, 3D drawings and models tofurther communicate the design intent.

Mood boards are used at the earlier stage of a projectto indicate the emotional and contextual aspects of adesign concept.

Designers use mood or concept boards to convey the

overall feel of a project, putting together images andobjects which inspire, target desires and facilitatecreativity and innovation.

Why mood boards matter?

 Words fail miserably when trying to translatedesign concepts.

 A picture is worth a thousand words, and moodboards are a great tool to create that picture for your client.

Things that can be explored in the mood board

include photography style, color palettes,typography, patterns, and the overall look andfeel of the site.

How to create a mood board?1. Choose a collage- This is the easiest way to create a

mood board because it can be thrown togetherquickly and does not force you to make decisionsabout smaller details such as fonts or specific colors.

2. Refined Template- A color palette is defined, fonttreatments such as a heading and subheading arechosen, and items like button styles andphotography can also be worked in.
