Analysis of water included in the quantitative chemical analysis for determining the levels of a substance in a mixture of other substances. The principle of analysis is the principle of water used and the titration method used is a color indicator method and is generally included in the analysis of volumetric. Water encountered in daily life has never been found in a pure state. The water usually contains chemical substances in some measure, both inorganic chemicals and organic chemicals. If the content of these chemicals are too many amount in the water, the water can be a source of disaster that can be detrimental to the survival of all creatures surrounding. Now with the pollution- water pollution by factories and households, the content of chemicals in the water increased and ultimately the water quality is declining. Therefore, the required water analysis to determine and quantify the chemical substances contained in the water so that it can be seen that water harmful to health. W

BACKGROUND

Water is a natural resource necessary for the welfare of the majority, even by all living things. Therefore, water resources must be protected in order to still be put to good use by humans and other living. Water utilization for various purposes should be done prudently, taking into account the interest of present and future generations. Aspects of conservation and preservation of water resources should be on all water users.

The river has the function of collecting rainfall in a given area and flow into the sea. The river can be used also for the manifold aspects such as power generation, shipping, tourism, fisheries and others.

The life of microorganisms, such as fish and other aquatic animals, can not be separated from the dissolved oxygen content in the water, not unlike humans and other living things that exist on land, which also requires water as a source of life. Industrial and technological progress often also has implications for the state of the water environment, river water, sea water, lake water and ground water. One way to judge how much water is polluted environment is to look at the content of oxygen dissolved in the water.

How that is done for this purpose is the COD, BOD,free of CO2,alkalinity and permanganate figures (TOM). If the dissolved oxygen content is reduced then it will disrupt the lives of biota in the water and cause water to smell bad. Would benefit from efforts to prevent environmental pollution.

Based on the description above, the authors are interested to analyze the percentage of COD, BOD,free of CO2,alkalinity and permanganate figures (TOM) from liquid waste contained in the river water in the Ciheuleut area. The reason we're in the sampled streams in the area Ciheuleut because the river is used for toilets. Though the river when viewed from the physical has been ascertained that the river has been contained waste. Therefore, we analyzed the river.
