As we step into 2020, there are huge opportunities that lie ahead if we take the horoscope 2020 into consideration. With the intro-duction to Happiness and Entrepreneurship Curriculum in Delhi Government Schools, students are inclining towards a well-struc-tured approach of self-development. The future of India(Our Youth) is taking an interest in entrepreneurship and developing solutions from the ideas.

While Zomato has acquired UberEats in India in an all Stock Trans-action, US-CHINA trade wars still continue to affect the global economy.

Authors like Robin Sharma are working harder to deliver an out-standing piece of work like the “The 5 AM CLUB” which is indeed a great motivation to get up early and join the process of becom-ing a leader and a successful human being. Since, India is the fast-est-growing eCommerce market, hence sharing the importance of branding and process to build a brand was the need of the hour.

Hoping to witness better economic growth in the upcoming year 2020 with the government taking growth-oriented decisions and implementing them on priority. Let’s look forward to hearing some of the amazing success stories as we move ahead and keep us all up-dated with the latest trends.

The classrooms of govern-ment schools in Delhi have witnessed an amazing trans-

formation over the past 5 years. Kudos to Mr. Manish Sisodia, Dep-uty Chief Minister of Delhi Gov-ernment whose vision is to provide quality education to all the children irrespective of their financial status. While education is free in govern-ment schools of Delhi till class 8th, students of classes 9th-12th have to pay a nominal fee of Rs.20 per month. This fee is absolutely afford-able for every section of society un-

like the huge amounts to be paid in private schools.Gone are those days when basic infrastructure and facilities were missing in government schools of Delhi as 20,000 new classrooms have been added in the past 5 years. Principals and Teachers from Gov-ernment schools of Delhi have so far been sent to Singapore, Jaipur, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Finland and Ahmedabad for the teacher training process. This has not only improved the quality of education being pro-vided to the students but also uplifted

the status of government school teachers who were otherwise con-sidered to be inactive and lazy.

The introduction of Happy Mindset Curriculum and Entrepreneurship Mindset Curriculum in the course of study has proved to be revo-lutionary steps. The primary goal behind introducing these concepts was to develop a mindset for con-tribution and sharing value, to fight the root cause of hatred, suicidal attempts, depression, intolerance among young children. The Entre-preneurship Mindset curriculum is very effective as it helps the student to break the barriers of their own mindset and take a step forward in the contribution towards the eco-nomic development of the country.

As a result, people from all over the world have started talking about Education in Delhi. Teachers and students from all over Delhi are coming forward to take initiatives that could set them apart. The ste-reotypes are changing, not just mid-dle-class families but upper-class families are willing to send their children to government schools.

There are 3 government schools in Delhi which are included in the list of EW India School Rankings 2019-2020 out of which one of them is at Rank 1. That clearly indicates that government schools have started outperforming money-oriented pri-vate schools. The movement led by Delhi Government school teachers to come together on social media platforms and develop a profes-sional community both from private and government schools is trending nowadays. It is going to bridge the

gap between the mindsets of soci-ety regarding the education system in private and government schools. We look forward to the new India where quality education is available to every single child and he gets the freedom to shape himself as a better human being. What could be more inspirational than Delhi Government Schools? Think about it. ■

Major Throwback to 2019The US-CHINA TRADE WAR : Leading to Global Recession

Global Tech Giants interested in Funding Indian Startups :With the rising start-up eco-system in India, some of the great technology companies like Amazon, Facebook, Google, and

Microsoft are ready to invest in Indian Startups as they see a huge potential to flourish. With Google invested in start-ups like Dunzo and Fynd, Amazon has made investments in BankBazaar. While Microsoft has taken an initiative named as ‘Highway to a Hundred Unicorns’ under which they have finalized 54 startups from all over India. This shows that entrepreneurship in India is not just supported by the dedicated youth but the government and other big companies are coming forward to invest as well.

World Bank & NSO estimates India’s economic growth to be 5% in FY-2020The National Statistical Office (NSO) and the World Bank has estimated that India’s GDP in the fiscal year 2019-2020 will have a growth rate of 5%. This estimation conforms with that of the October policy estimate by Reserve Bank of India(RBI). This decline in growth is due to the poor performance shown by sectors like construction and Manufacturing.

Two of the largest economies in the world, the US and China are involved in a trade war by imposing higher tariffs on goods of the other country which is worth hundreds of billions of dollars.Donald Trump, President, US has been accusing China of intellectual proper-ty theft and unfair trading practices for a very long time. While China believes that the US is posing restrictions on its economic growth to prevent China from becoming a global economic power. Mr. Donald Trump is focussing to make the con-sumers purchase only American based products by imposing tariffs on imported goods and thus making it expensive. The overall global economic growth has slowed down, as a result, also, the second-largest economy of the world, China has reported its annual growth to be the weakest in three decades in 2019. This trade war is expected to

bring an economic slowdown in the con-tinent and whose recovery won’t be fast paced. Since the impact of the trade war on the economy is yet to be disclosed completely, we can expect a stagnant growth. The trade war has resulted in slowing down of Asian exports and increasing cost for inputs. The investments sector have also been affected due to the con-frontation. Though this trade war has

negative impacts, but countries like India can plan to take advantage of the opportuni-ties that emerge out to strengthen and build a robust

global supply chain. They can boost the exports in the fields of agriculture, inor-ganic chemicals and plastics. Smart busi-ness policies and effective execution can safeguard from the economic crisis that would otherwise worsen the growth of the economy.

Listen to the starsFind your Horoscope for 2020

AWre you ready to welcome 2020 with new hope and great excitement? Aren’t you curious to know what destiny has planned for you in the upcoming

year of 2020? Knowing about the horoscope 2020 will as-sist you to take better and big decisions at the right time and warn you beforehand for any misfortune. Reading your horoscope not only helps you take precautions in your life but also helps you explore some hidden opportunities that otherwise would be ignored.

According to the forecasts made by astrologers, it has been predicted that the year 2020 would be highly exciting for the Fire Signs(Aries, Sagittarius, and Leo), and we will no-tice the progress-oriented phase for the Air signs (Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius), it is to be observed that logical moves will be shown by the Earth signs (Virgo, Taurus, and Capri-corn) and the ones who belong to the Water signs (Cancer, Pisces, and Scorpio) will shape their ways to success through spiritual awakening. People with Earth Signs will have a hard time to agree on the same note with the ones who have Air Signs whereas Water signs may find themselves incompatible with those having Fire Signs. Ecommerce Branding - Why & How?

According to statistics of 2019, 57% of the entire global population is among the Internet users com-munity. It is to be noted that people spend about

6 hours 46 minutes on average over Internet services. It is predicted that by 2021, about 73% of the eCommerce sales will be generated through mobile phones.

Coming to global markets, India is one of the fastest emerg-ing eCommerce markets and we can make the most of this opportunity if planned properly.

We can find plenty of people around us who are worried about the declining growth of their business, be it a local entrepreneur or a shopkeeper. Have you thought about it? What is making their business go down? Amongst many reasons for this, the major one is the changing demands of the customers. Though we have the same 24 hours in a day as earlier people had, the hectic schedules have made it convenient for people to order online and get home delivery.

From needles to washing ma-chines, from hair clips to wed-ding outfits, everything is avail-able online and that too with heavy discounts and cashback.

Which is a costlier local offline business or eCom-merce business? There is no doubt about the fact that local business is more costly as compared to eCom-merce business. The investment required in setting up the infrastructure, hiring employees and paying them, handling customer management is huge. Whereas eCommerce busi-ness requires you to have the right product, and platforms

like Amazon, Flipkart had a huge customer base which can be used to sell the product directly to the customers.

Which is better your own E-commerce portal or third party portal like amazon? That’s an interesting question! Considering third party portals like Flipkart, Amazon, Myntra, they take 20-30% of the product revenue as per their com-

mission slabs. Selling on third-party portals is quite beneficial if you have high margins and low return rates. It also depends on the competition in the market. So the decision of having your own portal depends upon the product and your financial status. If the demand for your product is quite high and you are in a condition to make good invest-ments(at least 4-5 lacs per year), you can opt for starting your own web portal and

creating an online brand. Even if you are unable to spend a good amount initially, you can start with small things and cre-ate value in the market, so that you can launch something big in the future.

Why Branding?Branding is far more important than the printed logo and tag-lines, it is perceived as an iden-tity of your business, it clears the purpose of your business to the audience, helps the cus-tomer to build trust in your organization. Not only this, if you have successfully built an

online brand, introducing new products and selling them is way easier than without building a brand. Branding plays an essential role in establishing the right image in front of the customers and assuring them the quality they expect.

How to create your online brand? When you have finally decided to start an eCommerce busi-ness and choose the right product, the questions that come to your mind are, “Is it what the customers want?”, “How to make it presentable and appealing?”, “Do this product meet the standards of quality and expectations from the customer end?” Now once you get these answers with the help of extensive market study and research, you can think about building your brand in the online market. Creating a brand does not only mean to make people aware of who you are but to create the

perceptions that the audience makes whenever they interact with your product or service.

Branding involves building value in the business that comes from consistency in the rules that you follow within the or-ganization and which cannot be compromised at any given scenario.

Given below are some crucial steps that you need to

follow while creating a brand:

Have patience

You need to understand branding is not just an activity of a

day or two, it is a complete process that takes time, months

or even a couple of years. But a clear focus and strategic plan-

ning can build a brand like never before. Give it your time and

dedication and results will be fruitful.

Market Research

This includes analyzing not just the product, but the audience

and the competitors in the market to bring the best to the

target audience in the way they are looking out in the market.

Market research could be done using Google, Bing to know

about the latest trends and competitors, surveillance can be

kept over social media handles to know how customers react

to certain service or product and understand customer be-

havior. Think like a customer and not a seller if you want to

connect with the customer base.

Analyze the strength along with the weakness of your com-

petitors and develop plans to fill that void and utilize it for

your own brand.

Though you might be knowing your product well, make sure

you are presenting something unique and never had before

experience for your customer with the help of your product.

You must know the answer to this question, “Why should I

buy your product?”

Say no to “Vagueness”

Be precise about your mission and goals that want to achieve.

Proper planning must be done and well-executed so that

every corner of your company reflects the same motive.

Your goal statements must be able to answer, “Why did you

choose to do business and sell this product?”

Ever since I was a child, my family always joked how I loved to isolate myself from everyone else. My sis-ter’s favorite jab was that my ideal home was Mars,

so I could be millions of miles away from people, even now – especially when losing an argument to me – she doesn’t hesitate to remind me to volunteer for India’s planned man mission to Mars. For me, though, I never viewed the isola-tion as negative, they were opportunities to observe people live their daily lives. From a fake smile to a bad joke to the changing tones throughout a single conversation, these were all subtle gestures that fascinated me because connecting it all was this unseen, natural rhythm. I didn’t know when I was young, but looking back on it now, this flaw everyone as-sumed I had was actually my greatest strength and laid the foundation for a career in music, dancing, and acting.

As I grew older, this natural rhythm became more real for me. I continuously remind myself to stay out of the emotional circle and to see the world as it was, not be bogged down by unnecessary drama. As a result, the rhythm became some-thing I could see, feel, touch and move with. My first experi-ence with it was a choir in school. Focusing on the notes and pitches, and only on the notes and pitches, led to ten won-derful years of studying music. Everywhere I went I would try to find that resonating sound or just the right song to brighten a friend’s day. Singing was everything for me at the time but once school ended, as with most people, life’s errands put creativity on hold.It wasn’t until one day where I spotted a pamphlet on free sal-sa lessons on the college campus that a new passion. Dancing brought a whole new perspective on my life. Here the body

and music moved as one, to complement each oth-er. Everything was fluid. As I did with my choir, for the next two years, all that mattered to me was cap-turing the natural rhythm and – slowly – embracing the art choreography. I shouldn’t say this, but I was so consumed with dancing and choreography that I might have skipped a few classes here or there! Choreography required me to continue my intro-verted lifestyle. To sit back and observe anything from everything. The more I watched people move throughout the city, the more I tried to incorporate their actions into my routines. One of the most challenging obstacles during this period, though, was the amount of physical effort that was required from an appearance perspec-tive. I am not speaking about exercise – which is absolutely important for one’s life – but instead the skills required for using makeup and fashion or cos-tumes. These are harder than they look! Most of my life I spent as a tomboy and never really learned about fashion or how to apply lipstick or founda-tion. Embracing my feminine side was entirely new to me and took me a long time to be comfortable with it. As with other creative aspects in my life, after some time, cosmetics and fashion were ob-served by me just as much as actions or manners of speaking. How much we can learn from a person’s choice in jacket, shoes, or shade of mascara! After dedicating myself to dance and choreography, I was offered an anchoring job and I realized within me was an actress. This realization came as a result of me having no idea how to be an anchor or an act.

At the time I asked, “What am I supposed to do? I have never done this before.” And the response was simple, “Just do whatever you do for dancing and choreography.” That com-ment, for reasons unknown, prompted me to buy “Creating a Role” written by Konstantin Stanislavski. His words made me realize that this love for observing people, staying above of emotions to understand emotions, and trying to under-stand the natural rhythm that connects us all, were all traits of an actor. What actor friends were trying and struggling to understand, came naturally to me ever since I started singing in the choir. Using all three; singing, dancing, and acting gave me my sense of ikigai, a purpose. My acting career started with anchoring which was ini-tially quite challenging because, for both English and Kannada, it was the first time that I had to focus on my pronunciation and diction all while interacting with the audience to create a positive atmosphere. This experience taught me two invaluable lessons, learn patience and acknowledge and be grateful for good luck. I never knew if my choice to pursue act-ing as a career would come into fruition but with each day, came the same routine; wake up, exercise, study for exams, work on set, sleep, and re-peat. There were times where I thought I was making a mistake as the anchoring and dance shows were not enough but I reminded myself to stay the course and keep working. Complaining and despair w e r e not welcome, and, as I am forever grateful for my good luck, after a short period of time, an opportunity arrived for a Kan-nada feature film titled, “Josh”. A movie set was an entirely different monster than anchoring or reality shows, but I loved every second of it. The actual acting included things that I have been doing all my life; listening instead of hearing, putting myself outside of emotions to express the emotions, and finding the natu-ral rhythm between myself and my fellow actors. The most painstaking adjustment for me to tackle, however, was the

technical side of shooting. I always excelled when it came to physical interaction with my environment, which is why I love acting, another actor and I are stepping into roles and attempt to convey an emotion to one another. With film sets, a camera is inches from your face and you have to attempt to feel an emotion with a lens instead of another person. This was HARD! Over time, like driving, it becomes second na-ture but it was one of the most unexpected hardships I have had to face. Despite spats of frustration, I wouldn’t

change anything about the experience, it is absolutely thrilling seeing yourself become someone else.

After “Josh” came a stream of dance reality shows but

my experience there is a whole other story!Living a life that has allowed me

to be creative ev-ery second of my life is

something I am incredibly grateful for; it’s been liber-

ating. To those who dedicate themselves to the arts, yes,

dedication, diligence, persever-ance are critical keys to help at-

tain success, but I challenge you to see the bigger picture. I challenge

you to observe, for a single day will not pass where you will not see joy, grief, anger, disgust, strength, peace, valor,

sensuality, sexuality and beauty. Rather through song, music, dance, conversa-

tion, or exercise you will see there is a wonderful world to harness and tap into that can help us understand the self-ex-pression. And, with enough resolution, you will find a path filled with love and success, even if it is all the way on Mars. ■
