Wadsworth custom programs theVersiSTEP. Growers can easily change thesettings for optimum growing conditions.

NOTE: The VersiSTEP Satellite DOES NOT function without the VersiSTEP Control.

It is only an addition, NOT a self-contained controller. It cannot be used with the EnviroSTEP or the microSTEP/SA.

Accuracy

Wadsworth‘s controls provide accurate tem-perature and humidity readings. Housed inan aspirated unit, a fan draws air across thesensors providing an accurate ambienttemperature reading rather than an incor-rect reading due to direct sunlight expo-sure.

Increase the power of your greenhouse computer by using additional sensors. Wadsworth provides C02, light, soil temperature sensors and a weather station which monitors the outdoorconditions. This additional information adds depth to the computer program.

Staged STEP Automation

Staged STEP controls workdifferently than our computerizedSTEP controls. The simple designdivides heating and coolingequipment into stages. When theclimate requires heating or cooling, all of the equipment assigned toeach stage turns on to return theclimate to its setpoint.

The staged approach does notoffer as refined of control as thecomputerized systems. However, they are perfectly suited for manyapplications. Always a favoritebecause of the easy to use design;just turn the knob to thetemperature for day and night.

Incredible durability: controls fromthe 1970’s are still effectivelycontrolling environments today.

The WeatherGuard takes the worry out ofwind, rain and snow. It is designed to override normal operations to close ventsor retract shade systems when high winds, cold weather, rain or snow might causedamage.

The WeatherGuard monitors:

• Wind speed

• Wind direction

• Outdoor temperature

• Precipitation

Provides Protection:

• Windward ventsclose in high windsallowing leewardvents to stay open.

• Vents are protected from cold temperatures and precipitation.

• Outdoor shades can be retracted in high winds or if there is precipitation.

• Indoor shades uncover and gutter heatersare turned on to protect the structurefrom snow damage.

Weather Guard Control

The WeatherGuard integrates with existingvent machines and temperature controllerssuch as the STEP 50A. This system hasits own microprocessor which sends anoverride signal directly to your equipment. If you have a computerized control, such as an EnviroSTEP, use the Weather Station(see pg. 9).

WeatherGuard features:

• Easy to program.

• Displays weather status.

• Controls 10 vent machines.

• Weather instruments on a 22’ mast.

• 100’ of cable to connect thecontrol panel to the instruments.

PowerRack™ RACK & PINION vent opener

Unrivaled quality that makes a difference

Shaft hanger

The PowerRack is built to operate yourvents reliably, so you can concentrateon growing. Virtually maintenance-free,the PowerRack is a solid, reliable unit.

Features:

• Zinc pinion gear with shoulders tobear the weight, extending the lifeof the gear.

• Easy alignment: Rack works evenwhen the vent is not perfectlysquare. Wide housing allows forinevitable movement in the vents. This unique design prevents binding.

• Freedom from corrosion: Stainlessclevis pins, cotter pins, set screws, cast sash brackets and tough nylatronbearings.

• Precision cut teeth on the PowerRackarms minimize sharp edges andassure smooth operation.

• Holes in the pinion housing arepunched with a stamping tool tomaintain exact spacing.

• The PowerRack arm and housing ismanufactured from aluminum alloyfor strength and freedom fromcorrosion.

• Wide load-bearing surfaces.

• Replaceable parts.

• Economically priced.

All of these features add up to a longlife for your vent automation system.

Extend rack life: lubricate once a yearwith Magna lube.

UNIVERSAL SHAFT HANGER

The universal shaft hanger supports the shaft thatdrives the PowerRack. Made of 12-gauge rigidgalvanized steel for reliability.

Easy mounting with the pre-punched holes andslots for 5/16” and 3/8” diameter U-bolts. Shafthanger holes and slots will fit 1”- 3” pipe, as wellas square tubing, angle, channel and variousother greenhouse members (U-Bolts not included).

Note: All models have 6” ofrack movement per revolutionof drive shaft.

(Round) (Square)

RACK AND PINION SASH ADAPTER

When replacing rack and pinions on a vent, the existing sash brackets are often ingood condition but do not fit the widerrack arms. Wadsworth has an adapter thatwill fit most older style sash brackets.Made of cast zinc, the adapter slips easilyinto the end of the rack arm and is held inplace with a clevis pin.

CURVED PowerRack RACK & PINION

The curved PowerRack Rack & Pinion is designed to give additional clearance (54” radius)when space is tight. Use when a straight rack might interfere with a curtain or aisle.
