2m wide concrete footpath on southern side of Maine Tce to match existing footpaths on Bay Ave. and the eastern end of Maine Tce. from Bay Ave, to The Esplanade.

New landscaping and trees to provide shade amenity for pedestrians, and narrow the road providing traffi c calming.

Upgraded pedestrian crossings to provide safe pedestrian access and traffi c calming.

Intersection narrowing to create rain gardens to improve stormwater quality, drainage and traffi c calming.

MAINE TERRACE

The overall objectives of the project is to:

• Provide active transport facilities,• Revitalise and improve the existing pathway,

landscaping, street furniture and fi nishes for the project area,

• Improve the public realm and overall amenity of the project area,

• Improve the safety and priority of pedestrians along the corridor by providing higher quality pedestrian priority crossing facilities and traffi c calming,

• Strengthen the pedestrian connectivity to the Deception Bay State School from surrounding areas,

• Improve the streetscape by planting street trees, introducing kerb build outs, implementing bio retention gardens to improve starmwater quality, improving lighting, and

• Improve the safety of the road for pedestrians and cyclists by slowing the speed environment and making other users more aware of their existence within the corridor.
