The Norman Tigers did not rest on their laurels a ter clinchinga 38-31 win in the Cross-Town Clash over Norman North. The Norman Tiger matchup with the Moore Lions used to bea marquee game in the state or a long time. Now with threeMoore schools and two Norman schools, and with Mooresdecline in talent lately, the intensity o this rivalry has dippedjust a bit.

Norman High has a big, strong and physical oensive lineand talented running backs in Dupree Young and DariusManning to go along with athletic quarterback Jakcob Dean.

The Tigers started the game out a little slowly on oense justlike they did in the Clash.

The Tigers scored their rst 17 points via special teams witha kicko return and a punt return to go along with a MattHockett eld goal right beore the hal. The second hal sawmore big plays or the Tiger oense on the ground.

The Lions got some great play rom a running quarterbackin Jordan Bernhardy. Jordan totaled over 300 yards o totaloense just by himsel. The Tigers will now take on a Yukonteam that took a loss at the hands o Justice Hansen and theEdmond Santa Fe Wolves.

As the clock wound down at the Cross-Town Clash, theNorman North Timberwolves had lost to Norman High. TheTigers applied pressure to the Timberwolves quarterback theentire night and brought David Cornwell down nine times onthe night. The 38-31 loss stung, but it is not the end o theseason by any means, as head coach Wade Standley pushesprogress each week.

The Timberwolves took the show on the road to Del City to pla ya very dangerous Del City Eagles team. The Eagles have speedall over the eld and they tried to take advantage o it all night.

Sophomore quarterback Terry Wilson had an amazing game, racking up 266 yards on the ground while throwing or 193yards as well. The deense had to make a stand at the end othe game and a Jake Brewer interception sealed the deal witha 41-38 win or the Timberwolves.

The T-Wolves oense had a much better evening as they gaveCornwell time to throw the ootball, which led to over 300yards passing and three touchdowns or the big Alabamacommit. North will next ace Westmoore to end district playbeore welcoming in an improved Midwest City team to opendistrict play.

Following the rst two games o the season or the Oklahoma Sooners, redshirt reshman Trevor Knight just did not have it. Ater the Cotton Bowllast year, the majority o the people that cover the program thought thatBlake Bell was the surere starter. However, the coaches decided thatTrevor Knight had done enough to win the Job.

A shaky start against Louisiana Monroe and a less-than-stellar perormance

against West Virginia let Sooner ans asking or the BELLDOZER. An injurypaired with ineectiveness led to the ans getting just what they were askingor: Bell in at quarterback.

Blake Bell is a pound-your-chest emotional leader and shows it on the eld.As he took the eld or his rst drive as a starter, questions swirled in thepress box: Can Bell throw the ball accurately? Can Bell move the oense? Is Bell a better game perormer than a practice player?

Most o those questions were answered in the win against Tulsa. I cannot tell you why Knight won the job overBell. This is not an attack on Knight, but the way Bell took care o the oense was just a dierent eel than whenTrevor was on the eld.

Bell, who was the Insight Bowl MVP while only playing nine snaps against Iowa, has been in many big gamesand took snaps in crucial times. I did not eel that those ew snaps would give Bell the advantage over anyone inthe quarterback competition, but it seems that I was wrong in assuming that. Bell took the Sooners right down theeld on his rst drive as the starter and was three o our through the air or 44 yards and converted a third andten with a good scramble and a touchdown the rst touchdown on an opening drive or the Sooners this year.

Under the control o Bell, the Sooners scored on the rst ve drives and only had to punt the ball once in theentire game.

Bell ended his debut with a record-setting perormance, besting Sam Bradords 367 yards in his debut againstNorth Texas in 2007. Bell threw or 413 yards on 27 o 37 through the air with our touchdowns and zerointerceptions.

Bell will now have a week o to work on the Notre Dame deense. The Fighting Irish came into Norman last yearand let with a 30-13 victory. A lot o guys rom that deense are gone, but Notre Dame will still bring the heatwith the likes o Stephon Tuitt. I Bell continues to play at the level he did against Tulsa, the sky is the limit or theoense, and this Sooner team will have shown the only thing they were lacking was a steady quarterback. Enjoythe o-week and lets beat Notre Dame!

    Richard MoormanThe Art of Manliness

A Mans Mans Perspective on the New iPhone 5 [c] and iPhone 5 [s]

Its that time again the time Apple releases the latest iPhone-whatever. There was a time when I cared about what latest eatures werecoming out and when, but ater awhile I just took whatever they were giving me and stopped paying much attention. Nowadays theresmore competition in the digital device market than ever, which means now youve got choices.

I youre a man like me, youre not happy about this. More choice is the last thing a man needs. Just seems to me like another excuse ormarketing gurus to shove more mixed signals down our throats. But the act o the matter is that even i you cant make a right choice, youll at least want to know enough not to make a bad choice.

So Im making it easy by giving you the quick mans man rundown o all the new iPhone products and what they mean, as I see it.

    iPhone 5 [s]

OK, I get it. The iPhone 5 [s] has basically become the Lexuso cell phones. And now it looks like a Lexus too. Maybeits not quite at the top o the game anymore as ar asperormance goes, but Im not tr ying to win any races here. Iuse my phone or email, an occasional text, antasy ootballand to help my wie nd her phone approximately 1.5 timesa week, the rate at which she tends to lose it. So I just wantsomething that looks nice and is going to get me rom PointA to Point B in comort and style.

O course, I dont own a Lexus. I cant aord a LexusIvegot three kids. But I can aord the Lexus o phones, which isgratiying.

Oh, and the other thing I do on my phone is banking. Orat least I would i I werent paranoid that Obama is goingsteal my identity and my bank account inormation. Its niceto know that i I did use my phone or banking, however, itsnow secured with ngerprint technology.

Now available in champagne, just like my Toyota Avalon.

    iPhone 5 [c]

Oh, great. This is just what the world needs: more color.More hackneyed ways or a young generation to expresstheir individuality.

What we have here is ba sically Volkswagen Beetle ophones. Its a amily phone, or the amily. Its a phone ormy kids generation and Im sure my wie will enjoy onetoo. Thats all well and good or them, but now Ive got theburden o judging people based on their iPhone color. Loud, immutable colors everywhere, giving me a headache onoise.

And you can orget about Crimson & Cream, the only colorsthat matter. Salmon & White just doesnt cut it. Whatever

happened to the rainbow? Im talking about the good, old-ashioned Skittles rainbow? Do we real ly need to soten thepalate any more? It already seems pretty sot to me. Nowweve got to bring in colors like Lemon and Lime? Limeis or boats at worst and cervezas at best.

Its going to be a long year.
