Metropol Parasol

One of the must sees in Seville is the view from the top of Metropol Parasol, also known to the locals as “La Setas”. Once at the top, you can take a drink and walk around the pathways of the building and enjoy one of the best views of Seville. The Metropol Parasol also hosts a museum, as well as a food market and restaurants that will satisfy anyone’s tastes.

Casa de Salinas

If you have already seen Alcazar, you should definitely make some time to pop into this less-known miniature-version of the palace, nearby, in Santa Cruz. Casa de Salinas is a family owned mansion with stunning plasterwork arches, and a Roman mosaic of Bacchanalian shenanigans, original ceramic tiles, and the family’s winter and summer drawing rooms with exquisite painted wooden ceilings.

Cathedral of Seville & Giralda Tower

The Giralda Tower is one of the highlights of Seville and one of its most representative buildings. It is one of the most visited monument of the city along with the the Cathedral - one of the largest churches in the world. A visit to both the Cathedral and the Giralda Tower is a must!

Plaza de Toros de la Maestranza

Also known as the Maestraza Bullring, it is surely one of the most popular attractions in Seville, and its most ancient bullring. You shouldn’t miss it if you want to know more about bulls and bullfighters and the Spanish fiesta at an amazing site.

Royal Alcázar

The grounds of Alcazar are extensive and fascinating and its design gives you a look at the distinctive style that helped to influence culture across the Mediterranean, so make sure you leave plenty of time to yourself to wander around the entire palace and gardens.

La OSA Mallol

This creative workplace is not just a one of a kind shopping must, but also a great place to meet other lovers of hand crafted and environmentally friendly fashion, and even learn about design and needlework. Don’t miss it, especially if you want to surprise your children back home!

Zaguan 24

Zaguan 24 is a cute store located in the surroundings of Barrio di Santa Cruz. It is specialised in gourmet products including olive oil, vinegars, wines as well as natural cosmetics. A place you must visit if you wish to take a small souvenir to your family.

Mercado de Triana

You will find this cozy covered market hall, as the name suggests, in the Triana district. Do you like delicious fresh fruit, crafted meats, a special beer or a meal? You’ll even find a cute restaurant where you can eat oysters or even watch a flamenco show. It is a versatile market that, in our opinion, is a good place to add to your tour.

Un Gato en Bicicleta

‘It was meant to be a standard bookshop, but it got out of hand,’ say the owners of this gloriously multifaceted space, a pioneer of the alt-cultural scene. Apart from books and comics, the ‘cat on a bike’ offers poetry readings, lectures, art shows, micro-theatre, music and more.

Mercadillo Historico del Jueves

This open air street flea market with its 124 stalls, is the oldest market in Seville, and is also a great destination for good deals. In fact, the Mercadillo de los Jueves is considered the most colourful flea market in Seville. Every Thursday flea market enthusiasts show up to look for antiques, paintings, photographs, postcards, crockery, chandeliers, old books, and many other collectibles.

Paddle down the river

How about a kayak tour to see Seville’s bridges from the bottom up and see more of the nature around the river banks? Spanish sun can be cruel, so make sure to book the ride at a decent time.

Aire De Sevilla

Are you looking for an authentic place to cool down and relax? The Aire de Sevilla Arab baths offer some of the most luxurious facilities to enjoy a traditional hammam, hot and cold pools and a wide range of relaxing massages.

Aquopolis Sevilla

Need a fun place to spend the afternoon? Aquópolis is a large water paradise with many different slides, swimming pools and a number of playgrounds. Especially enjoyable in a hot day!

Guadalquivir river boat cruise

Experience the beauty of Seville as seen from the navigable river in Spain, the Gualdaguivir. If you want to experience one of the most amazing sunsets you can dream of, then book the evening cruise. The view after sunset is one you will never forget.

Horse drawn carriage tour around Seville

A very popular activity to do in Seville is riding a horse carriage. It is a great experience to get an overview of the city, especially if you are short on time.

Sweets in a convent

Many nuns in the convents of Seville earn their living selling sweets and confections. Their recipes come from the times of the Romans and Moors, which they have preserved over the ages. Buying sweets from the nuns will help their convents and you can try 100% authentic sweets.

Casa de la Guitara

You cannot visit Seville and not treat yourself to a passionate flamenco show. What more could you wish for than a cozy venue, skilled dancers, talented singers and guitarists? Careful! The room will get hot!

Bar Panoramico La Terraza de EME

This is a classic rooftop terrace that offers top views of the Seville skyline and the Cathedral. Enjoy delicious cocktails in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere with tunes of lounge music playing in the background.

Doña Maria

Doña Maria is one of the oldest rooftop bars in Seville. Located on top of the Hotel Doña Maria, this bar offers front row views of the Cathedral, with friendly service and reasonable prices for food and drinks.

Roof

Located on the top of Casa Romano Hotel this multi-store terrace bar offers amazing views of the city. Although the Cathedral cannot be seem from here, you will certainly enjoy a 360 degree view of the city. It’s also a perfect spot to observe Las Setas, all combined with delicious food and drinks.

Level 5th

Are you crazy about gin tonics? Then go for a gin tonic at Level 5th! This beautiful roof terrace was completely renovated in 2014 and is now very modern and elegantly furnished. If you want to sit down and enjoy the sunshine, then just lay down on one of the cosy chairs here!

Cerveceria International

Are you a beer fan? If the answer is yes, then go straight to Cerveceria International. They have more than 15 taps and 250 different brands!

From Seville International Airport

To go from the airport of Seville to the centre of the city and vice versa, there is an urban bus transport line that connects both points. The ticket can be bought directly from the driver (€4 for a single ticket) and the journey takes about 30 minutes, depending on traffic. Getting a cab straight to the EAIE event takes about 12 minutes (9km).

From Seville Santa Justa train station

The Seville train station is located in the eastern part of Seville’s city centre and it provides service to Cordoba, Malaga and Madrid via the AVE and RENFE trains. To go from Santa Justa to the EAIE event, take the C4 circle line of the suburban train and drop by Palacio de Congresso station. If you prefer the bus, walk to Luis Montoto Street (about 500m) and take one heading to Sevilla Este - number 27. You will reach the conference venue after 13 stops or about 25 minutes.

From the city centre via suburban train

The C4 circle line of the suburban train works between San Bernardo station (close to city centre) and Fibes (EAIE conference venue). The suburban train is open from 6:19 in the morning until 22:03 in the night and it takes about 15 minutes to get to the event.

From the city centre via public bicycle

Seville is the best city for cycling in Spain. Like many other cities in Europe, you have the possibility of picking up a bike and dropping it off in different points of the city (including a parking area located a few meters from Fibes). This service is called Sevici and the week subscription costs €12,30.

From the city centre via taxi

Taxis are cheap and plentiful in Seville, and a ride across the city should be under €10. Just find the nearest available one and enjoy the trip.

Estraperlo Organic Food & Tapas

Pop in if you’re looking for a shop selling locally grown, organic produce, and even has a yummy working kitchen making some delicious tapas - to be enjoyed on the spot or as take away.

Eslava

One of the hidden gems of Seville, Eslava shirks the traditional tilework and bullfighting posters of tapas bar lore and delivers what matters: fine food backed up with equally fine service. Be there at 9pm, just before the crowds start to arrive.

Mercado Lonja del Barranco

Designed by Gustave Eiffel (think Eiffel Tower), this former fish market now hosts 20 different puestos featuring regional goodies, as well as a half dozen free-standing food carts. This is also the location of the M&R reception for those attending.

La Azotea

La Azotea is one of the most popular dining spot of Seville loved by both tourists and locals. La Azotea’s menu is seasonal and changes according to the market. Don’t forget to ask for their local wine recommendations and do consider one of their desserts.

Gourmet Experience at El Corte Inglés

The place is hidden on the top of the department store El Corte Ingles. Aside from the bar there are also several different food stands ranging from the traditional tapas to hamburgers and Mexican cuisine. Roam around, pick the food of your choice and enjoy the views.

Confitería La Campana

Are you a sugar addict? Then you certainly know this bakery is the place to be! La Campana is, since 1885, one of the most popular spots in Seville to take a break from sightseeing and enjoy delicious pastries.

“I love Andalusia. The food and climate are great, but the architecture was the most striking for me. You can breathe history by being surrounded by the old buildings of Roman, Moorish and Spanish origin. The combination of these architectural influences is truly inspiring. La Giralda is a good example of it. Currently a bell tower and one of the symbols of the city, Giralda was a minaret of the mosque. The contrasts do not end there. Real Alcázar with its peaceful atmosphere is very different from the busy city centre. And after a full day of adventures, just before the sunset, it is nice to go to Plaza de España. That is just spectacular.”
