Agency (CSA), in close collaboration with the Ministry of
Agriculture (MoA). Other major stakeholder institutions currently
involved in the implementation of CountrySTAT, among others,
include: Revenue and Customs Authority and National Meteorology
Agency (NMA).

The CountrySTAT Technical Working Group
Meetings of representatives from the CSA and MoA
(CountrySTAT National Secretariat) were initially held to
identify and organize the CountrySTAT Technical Working
Group (TWG)
The members of the TWG were also identified during these
meetings
Seven professionals (from the CSA and MoA) were initially
involved in the TWG
One TWG meeting has so far been held (3-5 January 2011)
A 3-day training in the use of CountrySTAT was given to 15
TWG members drawn from different stakeholder national
institutions in April, 2011
The training was provided by 2 trainers from FAO CountrySTAT

TWG Meeting Approach in Data Collection and Validation
(harmonization, standardization & integration)
The TWG meeting was intended to include plenary sessions and
group discussions
To facilitate easier group work, 3 subgroups were formed and each
subgroup worked on 3 different sets of indicators
Datasets were checked and validated using online soft copies as well
as the hard copy publications of indicators
During the plenary sessions problems encountered by each subgroup
during data validation were discussed and resolved
Some datasets needed further verification and were checked and
validated later on after the meeting
During the 3 day meeting 18 different datasets were collected and
validated
