UNIVERSITY PROJECTS
Engineering Foundations; Design and Processes (EFDP): In this project, we had to design a water filter to produce high quality results with the lowest cost
possible for the residents of the Codo village which is located within East Timor. As the team leader I planned, organised and distributed workloads evenly throughout our team. The project was successful even though one of the members pulled out from the unit, although
this increased the workload for the rest of the group it was a good experience in learning how to dealing with time pressures, problem solving, organisation and teamwork.
Manufacturing Processes: This project was more practical but an individual project where we had to use different types of
machines to make a small hammer. We had to record what we did and what machines we used in each of the laboratories, some of
the machining processes included: turning, drilling and milling. This project gave me the opportunity to have hands on experience on operating machines and
tools, the use of CNC Machinery, hands on experience on casting and welding.
Engineering Foundations; Principles and Communications (EFPC): My first project in university really helped improve my communication skills as we had to hold
meetings with different people from different backgrounds. Our task was to build a bridge using popsicle sticks designed by another group and a timeline
was given, we had to meet a certain criteria for the project to be successful. The bridge was a success and we did manage to build it within the time frame given. Without
teamwork, effective communication and logic, this bridge would not have been built in time
