Different use of fonts, (The Jam) backs up type of music that band played.. Aimed at older market.

Links in with the time of the bands of magazine. (No download) Barcode, tells you the price

(typical on most magazines)

In general the magazine is for an older audience as bands from late 70’s, I would argue mostly men.

The colour goes with the genre of the bands, as a punkie sort of bands. The colour pallet is White, Red and Black.

Don’t need to see full title as well known magazine.

Exclusives to draw a specific type of audience and could attract other fans.

Traditional magazine which suites the audience as trying to back to time of bands (No modern technology)

The colour pallet of the front cover breaks the conventions of a traditional NME magazine

Colour pallet of Black, White and also Red. Seems like a busy type of colours to match the magazine.

Larger piece of text, stands out more and draws the audience straight in.

Keeps with a typical Kerrang house style.

There is a few different fonts on the front cover of Kerrang.

CD, keeps in with the traditional style of the magazine (no downloads)

Try's to attract a new audience, as a lot of Paul Weller fans will buy the magazine

Barcode which is a typical convention of all magazines that are up for sale

Website is at the top of the magazine(modern technologies), also tells you what edition it is and how much it costs

The language used on the front cover is informal, short and straight to the point

In general the magazine is for an older audience, and I would argue that it will mostly be men because of the type of people featuring on the front cover

Exclusive to draw audience in, as they wont find this anywhere else, and it also attracts a new fan base
