Energyefficiencies above 10.8 EER at ARIconditions means that the RTAC is themost efficient air-cooled chilleravailable.

Using a compressor which has infiniteunloading and can match the coolingload exactly can further reduce energyconsumption. Not all helical rotarycompressors are the same. Somescrew compressors have stepunloading similar to reciprocatingcompressors of the past. Under part-load conditions, these chillers wouldtypically be overcooling orundercooling the chilled water. Thisresults in increased chiller operatingcosts and unwanted variations inchilled water supply temperatures.
