Activity 1 Grammar present perfect with yet and just
Activity 2 Spellingtwo-syllable words with medial double consonants
Follow-up activitySet the children the Consonant Challenge. Give each group a piece of paper. Tell them to work together to write down as many words as possible that have two syllables and two middle consonants. Allow groups to look in their books. Set a time limit of about ten minutes. When they have fi nished, congratulate the group with the most words. Use this opportunity to discuss the meaning of the words.
