1 Read the text and write the words. In many countries, bread is cooked in a mud oven. A fi re heats a mud oven, not gas or electricity. When using a new oven, the fi rst fi re should be small because a big fi re could crack and break the oven walls. The best fi res are made with dry wood. Light the fi re inside the oven and wait for about an hour until it is very hot. When the oven is at the right temperature, put out the fi re. Put the bread directly onto the bottom of the oven to cook.
