What is M2M?M2M is a mobile SIM that can be inserted into any device that supports communications with cellular networks. The service provides a data communication solution between geographically dispersed locations without the need to incur the cost of fixed communication links.
JT is the largest tier one carrier in the Channel Islands, providing fixed, mobile, broadband and a wide range of other communications services. In addition to these services, JT can offer at least 2 networks in most of Europe at the same low price. And you don’t need to worry about signal strength or steering, JT makes sure your devices stay connected and your costs are controlled. JT’s dedicated Roaming Team has negotiated substantial discounts with most European operators and every operator in the UK. By securing arrangements with multiple mobile network operators in each country we can also offer significantly increased resilience and a more flexible service.

M2M has various applications that can be used across a variety of sectors and markets including:
Automotive ManufacturersVehicle tracking services, customer monitoring services from car dealerships and parcel delivery services can use M2M SIM in hand-held devices for online update of deliveries.
Security Services M2M SIM can be fitted to a security system to remotely monitor the alarm unit and send alerts. A wireless approach means intruders cannot cut the standard phone line attached to the alarm system, sending alarm locations directly to personal mobile phones using text messages.
RetailCarrying Epos and credit card data for temporary outlets back to main Data Center can be used to back-up fixed data network circuits with auto-fall back, these include temporary checkout stands (e.g. fairs, market stalls or trade shows) and roving checkouts (such as taxis or home delivery services).

There are numerous applications for the M2M system and as standard M2M provides access to Internet in all the supported countries, this access then can be used to connect to any remote systems. Alternatively, JT can create a private secure data communications network using wireless network services.

Two distinct profiles can be provided: 1. Lowest cost network only, this configuration steers the connection to the lowest cost network and all other network are barred 2. This configuration is the same as in 1 above, except in the countries where a low cost network is not available. It will then give access to all networks

ServiceSet-up The set-up is simple and straightforward. Once the profile requirement is specified a SIM will be requested with the appropriate configuration by the JT support team. Once the configuration is complete the SIM will be dispatched to the customer.
The standard lead time for the production of the SIMs and set-up of the profile is 4 weeks.
Post-Sales Support JT will provide a single point of contact for any provisioning, on-going support and changes.
On-going support cover from the network operator is only available during customer business hours. An SLA will be provided as part of the agreement for the on-going support.
Billing A JT online billing platform will be set up to provide e-billing. Customers will receive an email with a user ID and password to access the billing system. The billing platform will provide monthly bills and access to a management report. The billing platform also provides a management report that will provide useful management information such as:• Breakdown of call types• Breakdown of calls through the month• Summary of National, International and other calls• Frequently called numbers• Most expensive calls
The portal also provides a facility to analyse monthly call data to create a range of management information including cost by department if required.
