Allenteringstudentsarerequiredtohaveasecurelaptopcomputercapableofaccessingallresourcesutilizedinthe

Kelloggenvironment.

This

document

is

intended

for

students

using

aMac

with

Mac

OS

X

10.4.x

Tiger

installed.

If

you

BeforeyoubeginpleaseconnectyourlaptopspoweradapterandanEthernetcabletotheirrespectiveoutlets.

BEFOREYOUBEGIN:SECUREYOURLAPTOPYouareresponsibleforprovidingasecurelaptoptoconnecttotheKelloggnetwork,specifically:

1. Afullypatchedversionofarecentoperatingsystemthatisconfiguredtoupdateautomatically.

Atthistime,pleasemakesureyourlaptopisfullyupdatedwithallcurrentoperatingsystempatches:

1. FromtheApplemenu,chooseSoftwareUpdate.

2. SoftwareUpdatechecksforavailableupdates,clickInstall.

3. Enteryouradministratoraccountnameandpassword.

4. Afterinstallationiscomplete,restartthecomputerifarestartisrequired.

5. Repeatthisprocessuntilnoupdatesremainavailable.
