M6 Stage 1 Your new recreational facilities community update

The M6 Stage 1 will connect President Avenue at Kogarah to the M8 at Arncliffe, connecting southern Sydney to the wider motorways network. Our construction activities will have a temporary impact on open space and the recreational facilities at Rockdale Bicentennial Park.

We understand how important this area is for you and have continued to work with Bayside Council and the community to develop our plans to upgrade and build new facilities at Ador Park Precinct and McCarthy Reserve, Rockdale and Brighton Memorial Playing Fields, Brighton-Le-Sands.

Our team would like to thank you for providing your feedback and engaging with us as we have planned and prepared to construct your new facilities.

Starting our work As part of our commitment to keeping the community informed, we wanted to let you know that we have recently engaged Ertech to carry out the work to construct the new facilities.

Work will start at Ador Park Precinct, McCarthy Reserve and Brighton Memorial Playing Fields from mid August 2020.

So our work can be carried out safely, the fields and existing facilities are now closed to the public and will reopen once construction is complete.

Our work hours Our standard work hours are: • 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday • 8am to 1pm, Saturday We may need to work outside of these hours to ensure the safety of workers and the community, however we will be in touch to let you know in advance.

Supporting our community Currently infrastructure construction projects are considered essential to the economy and will continue as planned across the city and the state.

The construction of the new and upgraded facilities will create around 200 jobs and support the local economy.

The safety and wellbeing of our workforce and the community is our highest priority. Our people are following hygiene and appropriate social distancing measures and will continue to do so.

We really value our community and look forward to keeping you updated as we construct these exciting facilities.
